Re: subtitle encoding x terminal

Hmmm, that's strange. On my device, ">" is the second key on the top row when I press Fn+Sym.

Re: subtitle encoding x terminal

Let's start with this one. Under Linux (the N900 runs Linux), you can declare files as being executable. If a file /bin/test is executable, then you can run it using

/bin/test

However, the...

Re: [ANNOUNCE]: SleepAnalyser

This seems to be a known issue. See post #107 and post #109. It would be best to let the developer fix this problem if you don't understand how to apply the fix in post #109.

Re: [ANNOUNCE]: SleepAnalyser

This is a bug in data.py, and happens when the config file is not found. "Sample_smoothing = ..." in data.py needs to change to "sample_smoothing = ...". (Or, "sample_smoothing" in main.py needs to...

You might have been referring to my reply. (In case you weren't -- sorry for misunderstanding you!) Whether or not I am happy with my N900 is immaterial. If I bought something that didn't work well...

Re: E-Mail problem

I am on T-Mobile (UK) and had this problem once or twice in the past -- it always cleared up after I gave up trying, so I guess it must be an intermittent network problem.

Re: Any fast way to get to the Phone app/interface?

I can answer two of your questions:

1. Ctrl-Backspace sends you to the task selector. After some time it becomes second nature to press this key combination and then click on the background to go...

Re: PyGTKEditor

It is a text file editor (kind of like Windows' Notepad, but souped up...) that allows you to edit programming source code with greater ease by what is called syntax highlighting.

The editor...

Re: packaging with py2deb

I can't understand why you are running the py2deb script via run-standalone.sh. I run THAT script (not the program) directly from python on the device.

Re: packaging with py2deb

What I did was to SSH into the phone and execute:

python build.py

That seemed to work for me.

Re: packaging with py2deb

Hmm I can't see the problem; I have successfully used py2deb on Fremantle several times. Are you running it in the correct directory?

Re: packaging with py2deb

It would help if you could post build_fSchedule.py. Without further information, though, it seems you have some path specified that starts with a "/" when it shouldn't; most probably dir_name, given...

Hey -- I am working on an app that is currently in Extras-Devel (it is called Tubes, predictably).

Drawing on gtk.Image

Hello all,

I apologise for asking a basic question. Suppose I have the code:

PixBuf = gtk.gdk.pixbuf_new_from_file("image.png")
Image = gtk.image_new_from_pixbuf(PixBuf)

(I then add the...

I call shenanigans on the 4s wait time between someone calling you and the N900 alerting you.
