chmod 600 /dev/video1
to disable front camera
chmod 600 /dev/video2

chmod 660 to enable again.

I installed Backupmenu tar -xvf /home/user/MyDocs/backupmenu_1.1_9.tar -C /
Tar is unpacked without any errors, /opt/multiboot/ have all files from tar archive.

It boots to Harmattan directly, but a little bit longer than with standard preinit. No sign of BackupMenu.

I wasn't able to boot backupmenu from Ubiboot with this metod with preinit from backupmenu, anybody knows how to achieve this?

I think kernel module is needed for samba to start on N9, so I started Smb server on my N900 and mounted shared folder by sshfs on N9 and it's working good:)

To change keyboard mapping you need to uninstall version 0.4.0, install previous version e.g. 0.3.0 and configure keymap in this version, then install ver. 0.4.0 again.

I tried flasher-3.5.exe --disable-rd-mode -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f and change battery to fully charged, none of this works.
It's definitely a display fault.

But when server is stopped there is no security threat?

Of course I changed root pw. I'm using my N9 only with my home network and with N900(3G) bluetooth NAP > N9 internet.

Ok, diagnosis:)

I read your post before, but my symptoms were different, and I was convinced that is something wrong with mobo HW, but not screen HW...

Anyway, I'm going to buy some broken...

My N900 has refused to boot:
-only white Nokia logo without white LED and screen goes blank
-on charger: only white Nokia logo without white LEDs and the screen turns off, reboot loop, sometimes...

I reinstalled openssh-server but that did not help, so I reinstalled Developer mode and now every command with SSH is working fine:)

And yes, there was some mess in /etc/default/ssh becouse I made...

It's not respawning in my case after "killall sshd".
