Re: iPhone and iPod Touch SDK is amazing... Wow.
It's interesting to see everyone's insecurities pop up in this thread. I have both an Iphone and an N800. The Iphone's interface is a wonder, to be sure. It should be the model for every touch screen...

Re: PSK31 on the N800
I've looked at using Linpsk on the n800 but the problem is that Linpsk requires QT3. Also, it requires Alsa drivers for sound. I think the program would probably be a project to Hildonize,...

Re: N800 lose of Battery Power
I rolled back to OS2007 last night. I browsed for well more than 3.5 hours without any issue. I'll continue the experiment tonight and see just how much more battery life I get with the older OS.

Re: N800 lose of Battery Power
I get about 2 hours of web browsing now as opposed to the 5 hours I used to get. I've shut off the RSS reader and all the other crap and the CPU meter isn't spiking. I thought my battery was just...

Re: How durable is the N800
You'd better send it back. These n800's aren't dainty flowers. I dropped mine from about 4 feet onto my asphalt driveway. I thought for sure it was going to be dead. Nothing but a dinged corner and a...

Re: Brand new n800 grief what do i do?
I think the primary objection here is not that etiquette should not be observed, but more that those attempting to encourage it are being jerks hugely out of proportion to the perceived infractions. ...

Re: GPS support for N800
Fry's has been closing out of the older Nokia LD-1W Bluetooth GPS receivers. One can be bought from there for $37, brand new. It's got a SIRF II chip in it though, so it's not the fastest receiver.

Re: N810 GPS not working
I'm using the GPS as a secondary function. I suppose I'm probably more forgiving because it's not the primary reason I bought the device. I have no doubt that if there are these issues, they'll be...

Re: Minor N810 annoyances
My only annoyance with the N810 is pretty minor. I wish they'd have put the d-pad in the middle of the left hand side right next to the lcd. I like to browse the web, and doing so one-handed is much...

Re: N810 GPS not working
When you first turn on a GPS unit, it acquires all the satellites that are in range. This can take up to 10 minutes with any GPS unit. Once the sat info has been acquired, getting a fix doesn't take...

Re: 770, 800 or wait fo 810?
Fry's has Nokia LD-1W Bluetooth GPS Receivers for $37 right now. Get yourself an N800, with a couple of cheap 8gb SDHC cards, a GPS, and a Stowaway bluetooth keyboard for less than the cost of an...

Re: Comparison N800 with other devices: Yeah!
I had the misfortune of buying a Samsung Q1 (1Ghz Pentium M model/1Gb ram) before I picked up my Nokia N800. Even though it is faster than the N800 at some things, it's lousy because it's way too big...

Re: Palm Foleo
I've had a Nokia n800 for several months now, and the size makes it very useful in situations that would make using a laptop, even a small one, awkward. For instance, when you're on the throne. I'm...
