Re: Hymns on N900

Take a look at http://lds.org/cm/catalogsearchalpha/1,17929,4782-1-1,00.html for a listing of hymns in the LDS (Mormon) hymnbook. Many, if not most of them were written by people of other Christian...

Re: Hymns on N900

Since people were discussing ways to read the Standard Works, I thought I'd mention that I have a plucker-formatted file with the complete Standards Works, with footnotes and study helps. It works...

Re: N810 replacement battery cheap

I bought a likwaiw (/Cameron Sino/Xell) battery for my N800 based on the advice in this thread. I just got it this week and it seems to be working just fine. It's only 1330 mAh compared to the 1500...

Re: E-book app which can activate non-cracked e-books.

I've used a Palm ebook reader in the Garnet VM to read DRM'ed ebooks on my N800. It's a less-than-optimal workaround, but it does work.

Garnet VM:...

Re: dell slate planned with meego

I've been looking at the Streak for the same reason. Since the bezel is much smaller, it's only a couple mm wider and longer than the N800, and is actually thinner.

Re: Looking for an app for tracking allergic reactions

Would a spreadsheet work? Try gnumeric. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=490201#post490201 for an N900 or http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/gnumeric/ for an N8x0.

Re: eReader Beta Released for Linux

It's not optimal, but you can install the Garnet VM and use a Palm ebook reader. That's what I do for DRMed ebooks.

Re: Redirection of website automatically? [fb widget to touch site]

I had a problem that Greasemonkey wasn't working, and solved it by uninstalling Greasemonkey, deleting the .mozilla folder, and reinstalling Greasemonkey. You'll lose saved passwords, and I can't...

Re: [Announce] Auto2G: A battery saver script for the N900

An alternative to fcron and dbus would be to put a script in /etc/network/if-up.d (and in if-down.d). If you want to keep doing the polling, put a script there that enables fcron-managed polling.

Re: [Maemo 5] Request: Adapt a memory building game for the N900

It looks like there are some flash versions of the dual n-back. I don't have time to try them now, but one or more might work on the N900.

I was having problems reading a graphics-heavy PDF in Evince on my N800 and found a fix for it, so I thought I'd pass it along. Assuming you have Ghostscript installed, running the following made it...

Re: [REQUEST]: Daemon to switch 3g off when wifi connectivity present

You can just put a script to turn off 3G in the if-up.d folder. See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=43907 for something along the same lines.

Re: Install Fonts in N900

What do you mean by "no change"? It's not going to change the font of any of the UI elements--it just makes the font available for the browser and text apps.

Re: Install Fonts in N900

Sometimes this error occurs even when the file has actually been copied. Can you check if the file is in the fonts folder?
