Re: Zhaan - what is it?
A quick update -- I spoke to some of my UPnP frends, and it seems to be an issue with XBMC + GUPnP which is causing those namespace errors (aka not something I can fix in Zhaan itself, it's a problem...

Re: Zhaan - what is it?

* Open a terminal (the "X Terminal" application icon)
* type in: "/opt/zhaan/bin/zhaan" (without...

Re: Zhaan - what is it?
You must enable the extras-devel repository (http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras#Extras-devel) to get Zhaan for now. With any luck, in a couple of weeks, Zhaan will make it to normal Maemo Extras.
I...

Re: Zhaan - what is it?
UPnP has a notion of classes. Several of these classes include Servers, Renderers etc. UPnP also has classes for controlling routers, so yes, UPnP can be used to open ports on a router.

Re: Is python really this slow?
Quick note: When you use GTK or Cairo from python you are not actually using them "in python". You are calling their C code from python. So the gtk/cairo operations themselves (with the exception...

Re: Zhaan - what is it?
That is correct. Most people probably already have one or two UPnP devices lying around there houses, and it is very easy to set up new ones.
Zhaan allows you to control media playback on UPnP...

Re: Bluetooth Tethering Widget for N900/Maemo5
Are you sure dun.sh is in your current directory? What if you just do "sh dun.sh"?
And no, the widget is not done yet, its still on the todo though. GUPnP stuff has taken precedence lately :/ ...

I can confirm that the N900 tethers just fine with ubuntu using wvdial or gnome-ppp on Hardy and Jaunty. (I don't have a karmic machine... yet).
I have done this using the bluetooth DUN server...

Re: Bluetooth Tethering Widget for N900/Maemo5
The application uses 12MB of memory. If I had to guess, 11MB of that is just the python interpreter and imports and not memory that is consumed because of any code I wrote. I would think that Nokia...

Re: Pronounce "Maemo"?
I was a "May Moh"-er until the summit. The consensus at the summit was pretty clear though for My-Moh. I kinda like it now that I am used to it, its like "My Mobile".
