How to make the Wayfinder map program work:

Please note these instructions are based on an N810.

By default the map program locates it's data files in "/media/mmc2/map".
On a standard device...

Re: Introducing console-tools v1 (install-tools replacemement)

It was the least I could do! Hopefully it takes the pressure off you a bit, and helps many take advantage of this awesome program. For me, console-tools is the holy grail of apps. My N810 wouldn't...

Re: Open external links in new browser window

Just wondering if anyone has figured this out yet. I find it quite rediculous that I have to be in the habit of first opening up a browser window, then opening up whatever bookmark I am navigating...

You and my wife would get along well. ;) She loves to go out and buy impractical stuff just because it's on sale or cheap. Walmart may be able to get away with that sales model, but...

Re: Help with Clock, Alarm function

In that context my problem is the bang-for-your-buck issue. Flat out, this device is plain well not worth it (price wise), in exchange for only the built in apps it comes with. But the whole point...

Re: Clone OS to SD Deb!! Boot from SD made EASY!!

I ended up creating a "dummy card", moved the "map" folder to it, and then it worked:

I'm lucky...

Re: Clone OS to SD Deb!! Boot from SD made EASY!!

Yet another question... How do you install applications that are counting on filling the "internal memory" card, rather than the flash? For example, the map program (i.e. Wayfinder). When you try...

Re: Accessing samba shares from the command line

Those instructions start off by saying it's so hard to even do the first step that he can't even offer advice. Is there a way to do it that doesn't require a degree in rocket science?

Accessing samba shares from the command line

OK, so OS2008 can access public network shares natively. But then how do I use that from the command line? Like if I want to rsync some files back and forth, how can I do that?

Re: Clone OS to SD Deb!! Boot from SD made EASY!!

With all the talk about disabling the virtual memory (pre-install), I'd like to ask about re-enabling it (post-install). Are there any issues with doing this? Currently the mmc2 partition is only...
