Re: Irreco for N900

The problem is even if it could scan the carrier frequencies, that wouldn't send actual commands in whatever format. It would be easier to try to find a replacement remote - then you could clone...

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

The source is available.

The key is in the source.

I've not had problems.

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

> Is the kml2kmz just a gzip?
This is just a wrapper around gzip that changes gzip headers to (pk)zip headers and the central directory which is what kmz files are. Most GPS data compresses over...

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

The KML files have a "red fence" where the height is based on speed showing your journey.

They are split every N minutes (the default is 5) but all will load into Google Earth where the time...

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

I don't ever delete any file, but I do invoke kml2kmz which zips the file and deletes the original. It is possible that it is missing a library (it requires gzip to work). You can manually remove...

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

It still should create a "prelock.kml" file in the specified directory with the GPS traffic before it gets a lock.

Re: minigpsd - 0.30-pre1 beta

It should have files named after the time (the directory is when it starts).

If the card is full it would be a problem. Also is that what you see when it is running?

Does it work with...

Re: DIY digital compass: electronics experts needed!

Not for the N900 since I don't have one, but I have an HMC5843 breakout, arduino, and bluetooth talking together sending X,Y,Z. I'm working on adding barometric pressure.

Re: DIY digital compass: electronics experts needed!

I don't think it would fit on an SD card without sticking out (at least on the 900). You might be able to do something via bluetooth (or even flash an IR LED at the camera).

I don't think the...

Re: DIY digital compass: electronics experts needed!

One of the things I'm working on involves adding a magnetometer (HMC5843 - http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=450739#post450739) to my stack with a Venus 10Hz GPS (with WAAS and AGPS!), reading...

Re: DIY digital compass: electronics experts needed!

i2c would be easiest to access using some microprocessor with a similar interface (Atmel has TWI or USI depending on model). I don't know if you can bit-bang the SDIO in the microSD, or if there...

Re: N900 device program for maemo.org developers and contributors

Well, I managed to create a valid account at forum.nokia.org and add my store profile.

It insisted on a Salutation, but limited the choices to Mr, Ms, or Mrs. They're Miss-ing a few, but I won't...

Re: How to extend Bluetooth profiles in Maemo 5

SPP is NOT listed as a supported profile. If it was supported I would expect it to be listed in the official documentation as supported.

Re: How to extend Bluetooth profiles in Maemo 5

To repeat a question I asked above, is SPP officially supported "out of the box" or does it need to be added in the list of unsupported profiles?

(I think the tvbgone used such a source).

Re: Can u record TV with N900?

There is also the micro SD card interface. Unless something is really strange, it is a standard SPI interface, though might have a few quirks. And there are things which can do video to SPI.

Re: Can u record TV with N900?

Turn the n900 into a mimo usb monitor.

Might require some kernel hacking, but the port is there, should be fast enough, and you can "display". Recording would take a bit more.

Re: Can u record TV with N900?

No TV in and no host mode (would minimally require kernel recompile)

Something like a HAVA or other video to network should work via wifi.

Or you could point the camera at the screen.

Re: How to extend Bluetooth profiles in Maemo 5
