It is not just a matter of stamping out sheet metal. The unit must have the latches placed exactly or it will not work. Each tablet is different enough to make this very difficult.

There is very little interest now since the thread was moved to accessories. I guess like me most readers do not come here like the old N810...

Many programs would be enhanced with a accelerometer.
One game in particular would be Numpty Physics but there are many uses.
The infrared would allow you to be able to emulate the very expensive...

The gyros are expensive, What would it be used for? The Tilt sensor is three axis.

If it is not available at DIGIKEY I do not use it because it will be hard to get but I do have overseas contacts...

I recently added a rotory switch to the left side of the case. This is the type that spins and pushes in.

There are another 15 switches in the design but I have not figured how to install them for...

The IR emitter will be on the side so it points to the devices you want to control when the tablet is held in the portrait orientation with the camera at the top. Any IR transmitter software should...

I did not look into a compass but with the one wire buss it is possible. With the n800 the software would be the same but I would need to have a power connection and a cover for it. If it works it...

It will be small enough to fit inside the 3.5mm inner thickness of the metal case. I am not sure about the price yet.

No, all IR transmitters and receivers are not the same.

Yes you would be able to control say a TV or audio system directly from the Tablet.
