Re: Nokia N9 PR 1.2 official released.

Try deleting the .debs in the apt cache, even if you deleted a repo, the package you downloaded from it might still be there.

rm -rf /var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb as root

Re: [ Announce ] NVideo - A youTube browser, searcher, and player written in Qt C++

Really good. this is several times faster than other clients, must be the C++.

Is there a way to stop it from loading anything on launch though? Just a blank screen with a search box. I don't...

Re: [Announce] Enhanced lockscreen

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player

Same thing. If it helps, the terminal output when trying to play that (Unknown Song) is
"There is no media to play"
"Invalid object id"

(wget doesn't cache old versions right? :P)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player

Excellent work! Already faster in loading my artist list than the stock mediaplayer from a cold launch! It does seem to have some difficulties with Unicode tags though. Where can I fill bug reports?...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Columbus Navigation Toolkit

Great app, I have a UI feature request though: anyway you could add a setting to stop it from opening in full screen? I like seeing the clock/battery etc without having to tap on the corner every...

Re: N900 pr 1.3!

According to the Chinese forum it has: bug fixes and new Qt libs.

So at best, nothing changes from stuff the community fixed already (See: MohammadAG's hildon-desktop) and at worst your Qt apps...

Re: OpenSSH, Avahi, Modifying files in /etc/rc*.d/

Thanks for the reply! I got it working now, didn't even have to edit nsswitch.conf as was already installed like that.

Makes me wonder why libnss-mdns isn't in the repositories, or already...

Re: Microsoft announces new W7 phones. Which one is the best?

lol, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, personally I like Windows Phone 7's clean, subdued text centric UI than most of the customizations I see here. What's with that messed up aspect ratio...

Sorry for the bump, but...

Did anyone ever figure avahi on the N900? I've been trying different setups for the past couple hours now, and I can't really get it to work. My computer sees the...

Re: Pybattery - battery statusbar applet with candies

I second this actually, I used advanced power on my N800 and it was great, but right now, I think a "simpler is better" approach would fit the N900 UI more. Any hopes for an lite version with just...
