Re: What Bluetooth-Hands-Free for Sailfish X 2.1.3

Hey there, there's a pretty comprehensive list of bluetooth devices that are working on Sailfish X over at tjc:

I hope this was...

Re: Gemini PDA Happened, A Debian Linux Dream Came True..

Just theme it. You can make XFCE as beautiful or as ugly as you want.

Re: Gemini PDA Happened, A Debian Linux Dream Came True..

Still skeptical. Concerns about the kernel and whether or not it's using some abstraction layer between Android device drivers and the Linux system. If it's pure debian with a real Linux kernel, I'm...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I'm actually 3D printing prototypes (in Taulman Bridge nylon - since it is easily finished and dyed) for exactly that. I intend on posting my final designs here when finished.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

jTox, cyanide, and numerous options left available through Alien Dalvik. Why does a (very) specific and narrow use case equate to a platform being "pathetic"? There are bugs and quirks, sure, but...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I still use whisperfish for encrypted sms, that's about all. Does cyanide still work for tox? Outside of that, are there any Alien Dalvik options that'd suit you? Sailfish has at least some measure...

Re: Eelo OS : the Non- Googlized Android Alternative.

This exactly. The only reason people use those turds is because they've forced themselves into "needing" a particular app ecosystem. Meanwhile, there are absolutely no apps that I require outside a...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2017: HIFI or sound systems

Taken with Sailfish X, not very happy with the photo quality at all, but it's what I've got!

McIntosh MC206 amp, Meridian G68ADV processor, B&W Nautilus SCM1's. System is almost two decades old,...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

I don't even really do that anymore. I have a slick GPU passthrough setup, RX480 as host adapter and RX Vega 64 as the passthrough to a KVM windows 10 LTSB VM. Been able to max everything out without...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

Off-topic (sort of) but things like that are exactly why I can't bring myself to use Windows in any capacity in my day-to-day. Those rare occassions (admittedly not very often at all) I absolutely...

Re: Sailfish X mms not working on MetroPCS

If you're able to use epc, do so. I've had countless issues on fast., and the older APNs. ipv6 on MMS, dual on Data. Prefer 4G. Done.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I've got a solution for your MMS on U.S. T-mobile if you're still fighting that. I'm in Chicago, official Sailfish X, MMS works flawlessly. Let me know if you need more details.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I'm in the US on T-Mobile and 4G/LTE works great. I'm in Chicago, so my area is typically heavily congested, but everything works well.

For the record, I flashed on top of the latest Emma image...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Honestly at this point it sounds like your fastboot driver is broken, even though it's reporting a device correctly. Are you able to do simple commands like "fastboot reboot" or "fastboot reboot...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Did you enter your IMEI at the Sony site, and are you certain that the code they gave you is pasted exactly in the fastboot command?

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I wholeheartedly agree. systemd (like wayland and Qt) is a forward-thinking project. The naysayers remind me of the early detractors of btrfs, dead set on bugs or broken implementation that were...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I took at a look at the SIM carriage for F5122, and it appears there are only 17 pins total on the package. 9 on one side, 8 on another.

SIMs are 6 pins, SD cards are 8, so that's a total of 20...

Re: Sailfish MMS problems - T-Mobile USA

I have this same issue. I'm not sure if it was present on the community build, as I remember being able to send test MMS'es with WiFi toggled on.

I'll flash the community build a little later...

The thing I don't get here is that people don't seem to understand the inherent risk of crowdfunding. You're giving them that money and, while they have some obligation to do what they've said with...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

There's no need for a third party flashlight app or working with sources of other stuff. There's a flashlight toggle built into Sailfish X:

39602

39603
