Re: After Khweeteur broke on me - I have no full Twitter app on my N900. Does one exist?

TweedSuit is very nice, but can't do Favouriting.

Questin: What happens with Khweeteur? Why doesn't it work? What does it do instead? What does it do form the command line?

Re: Next phone after N900 for year 2011

Nothing particularly excites me in Android, and I am disinclined to give this incarnation of Nokia any more money.

I demand high-quality hardware and a QWERTY keyboard. The only candidate at the...

Re: [Announce] TodoList Widget

I have one issue:

Deleting items within the widget does not cause the widget to refresh.

The widget does not refresh if Task items are deleted in the calendar.

The widget only refreshes...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Make sure your N900 is online so downloading is possible.

#sudo apt-get update
#sudo apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop; killall hildon-desktop

If that doesn't work, you probably need...

Re: Hildon Portrait issues thread

The latest build solves half of the problem I first reported in the original thread, with hildon-desktop.

Now:

1.When first rotating, locations of icons and widgets is messed up. Fix this.
2....

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Super Script [FINAL VERSION] + Tweaks To Speed UP N900 Dramatically + Battery Improvements

Disable smartreflex (in QCPU or in the settings file - revert values to "0", reboot, and then see what happens. Unfortunately, some settings or values are not stable on all devices.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Portrait works smoothly and well for me, with one problem:

I use multiple editions of homescreen-dockbar, and none of them remember their set positions. I can move them, click out of the setup...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Super Script [FINAL VERSION] + Tweaks To Speed UP N900 Dramatically + Battery Improvements

I think it's time for me to stick my oar in:

I have tried most tweaks and tune-ups over the past year. I was cautious about kernel-power v47 because I had a few issues with it, and went back to...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Super Script [FINAL VERSION] + Tweaks To Speed UP N900 Dramatically + Battery Improvements

That HW tweak is the most notorious hack on the N900 for working differently on different devices. I don't use it because it messes up mine, no matter what else I do or don't have installed or...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Super Script + Tweaks To Speed UP N900 Dramatically (FINAL VERSION)

It flashes up as a thin overlay on the screen - if you look away for a second you'll miss it.

EDITED: Actually, no, sorry, it doesn't, it comes up as a warning until dismissed. What version of...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Super Script + Tweaks To Speed UP N900 Dramatically (FINAL VERSION)

Swappolube displays a warning that you need to press "Save" if you want settings preserved between reboots.

Re: WM7 not doing very well

I have no actual proof, but I strongly suspect this is because Symbian is defined out of the picture as "not a smartphone OS". This is quite common from Americans, who weren't exposed to Symbian,...

Re: Would you buy N950 if it is available for purchase?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt so far, but I have my reservations and the keyboard may not able to overcome them: At the moment I can't see myself choosing to live without desktop widgets,...

And we certainly haven't...

Re: Handset suddenly become unstable.

There have been various opinions over this, but I was getting lockups on power kernel v47 that I had not been getting on v42. I have gone back to v42 and have had no lockups.

Unfortunately, I...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v47

V47 has been faultless for me so far. I use everything from -devel, have CSSU installed and overclock to 950. I didn't use the last kernel-power because it increased battery drain, but v47 has fixed...

Re: camera-ui2 [icon designer needed] [developer needed] (updated 27.03.) (source included)

Just want to pop my head up to say: I have no problems with the camera-ui installed via CSSU, and I am absolutely loving the way it tells me what distance it's focused at :)

Fantastic work.

Re: 3-horse-race?

Actually BSD - the Unix clone before Linux. But close enough.

The big benefit here is that the number of people who buy Symbian/Maemo for the sake of Symbian/Maemo is probably miniscule compared...

Re: what was your phone before n900??

I've still got my N95, and it was invaluable until I decided on a new phone, but the ribbon cable was slowly decaying and eventually died, after I had ordered the N900 and before it had arrived.

I...

Re: what was your phone before n900??

Personally, I replaced an N95 with an N97 mini, and S60 5th Ed disillusioned me so much that when it was accidentally destroyed by being run over by a tram I decided that since I didn't like any of...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

And thank you for the first pointers in where to start looking!

I am using Catorise: Given enough time I'll do some playing around with packages and see if I can pin something down.
