Re: Using email with Yahoo mail

I use Yahoo Mobile:

m.yahoo.com

It is much faster than regular Yahoo and works perfectly on the N800.

Re: gnome sword or bible program

I had the same issue with the mods.d folder not being created on the internal SD card. The .conf files were being written to a tmp directory and the program would index for hours. Once I manually...

Re: USB keyboard Troubleshooting

I have tried a Logitech Classic Keyboard 200 (USB) with the N800 using host mode and it works fine. No powered hub was needed.

Re: Good Case for Nokia n800

I use the nice leather one from Jabashop on ebay. It fits like a glove and protects the unit even when in use.

Re: It's time for new OS2008 firmware update

There is also a Bluetooth keyboard pairing bug that needs to be addressed. Bugzilla Bug 2640.

Re: BT keyboard Pairing...

Update: After successfully pairing using 1.2007.44-4. (beta), I upgraded to 2.2007.50-2 and restored settings, bookmarks and applications lists. Pairing now works under 2.2007.50-2.

Re: BT keyboard Pairing...

The thing is, all I restored after reflashing was bookmarks and application list. Other than that, it was clean install. I still couldn't get pairing working with version 2.2007.50-2. Pairing...

Re: BT keyboard Pairing...

I had the pairing problem with the iGo Stowaway UltraSlim and the aluminum Apple BT keyboard. The only solution I found that works is to downgrade to the OS2008 beta and all seems to be well...

Re: Repo madness - is it really this way?

It would be nice if their was a repository CD or DVD-ROM that could be easily duplicated and distributed for a nominal fee....

Re: Everex Cloudbook

The Packard Bell name indeed has a bad reputation in the US but is still popular in Europe. It isn't the same company it used to be, however. NEC bought the brand in the mid 90s and Acer/Gateway...

Re: SD Card died (somehow)

I believe Kingston offers a lifetime warranty on their cards. You may want to return them for replacement.

Re: Anybody else up to create a bounty for an office suite?

I'd say that Docs2Go from DataViz would be the most likely choice since they already support PalmOS, Windows Mobile, Symbian and are hinting at offering iPhone support.

I'd say drop 'em a line:

Re: N800 Styli

I understand your skepticism.

The best solution would be to do an objective test.

Get a couple of pieces of transparent plastic sheeting (screen protectors would be ideal) and spend fifteen...

The N800 was only introduced in 1/07. A 10 month product lifecycle would be short, indeed!

Re: Documents2Go on N8x0?

So, is anyone else interested in seeing Documents2Go on the N8x0 platform? It offers a decent word processor, spreadsheet and presentation program with MS file (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) compatibility.

Re: N800 Styli

Be careful using anything that is not a stylus. I certainly wouldn't recommend it because you can do permanent damage to your screen.

Read this information about styli. It is very helpful:

N800 Styli

Based on my conversations with Nokia, you cannot buy replacement styli for the N800 in the US and if your screen is damaged by a third party stylus, the warranty is voided. Quite a Catch 22.
