Re: [Announce] Autoconf 2.67 for Fremantle
Yes, I got that! :D
I was simply surprised that apt-get wanted to remove so many packages just from adding one more repository to the list.
Thanks for the explanation.

Re: [Announce] Autoconf 2.67 for Fremantle
Thanks! That seems to be it.
However, there's something very strange in my system if I try apt-get update and then apt-get install autoconf2.67. The system says I need to remove 631 packages! ...

Re: [Announce] Autoconf 2.67 for Fremantle
Thanks. Would you please tell me where the sdk repo might be? I cannot seem to find a pointer to it by searching on this forum. I can find the SDK itself but I don't want that.

Re: [Announce] Autoconf 2.67 for Fremantle
I am trying to install bbdb (version 3) on my N900. However, this needs autoconf. When I try to install either 2.67 or the obsolete 2.64 version, I get the error
The following packages have...

Re: Due for upgrade. Where to from N9??
I went to a Nexus 4 a few months ago. Lovely phone. It doesn't have any extras on top of Android so is nice and clean and Google seem to provide updates regularly. I'm also on a SIM only contract...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?
My N900 is my only phone and has been for more than two years. Did try an Android for a short time but quickly came back to the fold. Keyboard is essential as is X terminal. Love being able to run...

Re: Roxterm: Another terminal emulator.
On a different note, I switched to roxterm from osso-xterm primarily because it takes up less screen space (the line with "Tab Esc ..." that osso-xterm displays). On the N810, there is still the...

Using screen in xterm/roxterm
Hi,
I use my tablet in text mode (via osso-xterm or roxterm). My preferred working environment in Emacs and that works just fine. However, I do like using 'screen' to have multiple shells etc...

Re: Roxterm: Another terminal emulator.
Just to confirm, I also have the same problem with any of the "special" keys. It would appear that they are generating escape sequences for function keys instead of doing what they usually do...

Re: links2
Ah, sorry! I'd never used the graphical interface before. Looks nice but defeats the purpose (for my needs, of course!). Emacs (the X version) suffers from the same problem, however, and it is...

Re: links2
I just run it from a roxterm (osso-xterm should be fine as well). I didn't try running it directly.

Re: links2
Assuming that you are trying to install links2, it's now in some of the repositories. Check out http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.php and type in links2 in the search field. I've just installed it...

Re: swap matchbox-keyboard into os2008?
Strange. When I try this, hitting RET on the matchbox keyboard toggles the display of the "normal" stylus keyboard. That's marginally better than having the finger keyboard come up (especially when...

Full screen non-Hildon X applications possible?
Hi,
I've got an N800 and everything is working fine. The reason for getting it was to run Emacs so that I could have org-mode on a portable system. That's all working just fine.
However, I...

Re: Scientific apps on N810?
Update: The repository is back. I've installed maxima and am now a very happy camper! True symbolic computation on a computer this size is just awesome.

Re: Scientific apps on N810?
I'm unable to access this repository: it doesn't seem to exist any more. Does anybody have the debs for maxima and dependencies handy?
Thanks,
