but it's a shame coz I was getting very good battery life using just 2G for the calls n txts and wifi for my internet....aww...

I honestly think Archos 101 is a very good competitor to iPad if you know how to use it....HDMI, full USB, excellent video formats playable, good screen, nice solid state 16gb etc etc.....

The 10.1 looks like specs for a netbook. Looks too good to be true....I think it's a scam. I would suggest an Archos 101. It's very good.

Well let me give you a brief review dear sirs.
The battery life is pretty amazing I have to say. It lasts for ages. I can easily get 8 to 9 hours with 75% brightness and 75% volume and no sounds...

Updated the Archos 101 with Froyo and sideloaded the android market....got the flash player from there and the rest of the goodies like the angry birds and even the seasons edition....all looking...

i'm afraid I'm not that advanced to be able to pull ram info from "top" in "terminal" for archos 101. But I can confirm that it has 256 mb ram as it was listed in the paperwork that I got...

On my Archos 101, it didn't come pre-installed with any PDF viewer or reader. I had to install a slow one from the Appslib.....it can handle your pdfs but very slow in rendering or showing the...
