Re: Transparent pocket mode

No way to set a flag somewhere to just force the proximity sensor "position" in software? I'll look into fabrics too, but so far haven't found anything that works.

Transparent pocket mode

I have a transparent pocket in a handlebar pack. I can operate the N900 fine when it's in the pocket, but the problem is that when someone calls, the proximity sensor doesn't see through the plastic...

Re: Finnish n900 owners thread

Normaalisti voisi käyttää alt-<numero>, mutta koska alttia ei N900:n terminaalissa normaalisti ole, niin itse ainakin painan esciä terminaalin alareunasta ja sitten numeroa näppiksellä (ei tarvitse...

Re: Finnish n900 owners thread

No aika useinhan tämä laite ärsyttää. Nettiselain jumahtaa välillä googlen mobiilisivuunkin ("Web page is unresponsive"...) ja softanhallinta on törkeän hidas.

Mutta en minä mitään muutakaan...

Re: Python script for GPS location help appreciated

I certainly hope there is not. I don't want any apps draining the battery without me knowing about it.

Re: Any interest in a friendly Maemo app development 'competition'?

I think that to get this kind of thing going, you just need to dive in. Set a date (weekend maybe), make up some rules and contact the few people who promised some prize money.

Personally I...

Re: GPS logger for N900

Use the logger widget to save to a gpx log, then use gpsbabel (or similar tool on your desktop) to convert from gpx to kml. I believe KML should be uploadable to Google Maps, as it is a file format...

Re: Python script for GPS location help appreciated

Well, the problem with hard timed reads is that the gps might not give you the data. What I mean is that you want to wait for 30 seconds for an update, but the gps gives you one after 25 seconds and...

Re: Python script for GPS location help appreciated

In the on_change function, do not call data.stop(). Then you will still get updates on the location. What I do is to compare the new location to the old one, and if it's close enough determine that...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

Somehow I find my self wishing for a more neutral place to discuss. It's indeed very understandable that people over here want to express their worries and hopes as N900 owners and Maemo developers,...

Re: Maemo 6 loosing source compatibility with plain Qt, and Symbian^4

As I'm sure most have already noticed from Planet Maemo, it seems like Orbit aka Uiemo will run on Maemo. At least one quite big obstacle down on the road to interoperability.

Of course, this is...

Re: Maemo 6 UI Framework on the N900!!!!

Um, no. I'm not saying Harmattan won't come for N900, but this has nothing to do with it.

The demo is about Uiemo, aka Orbit, aka the Symbian Qt framework, not about Maemo6. What can be inferred...

Re: Emergency Calls Function?

If you input an emergency number as the code, a new button appears that allows to make the call. Should work with 112, 911, and probably others I'm not aware of.
