Re: maps on n900, best options

If i use a webbased map, i usually go to maps.google.com/mobile. It's a stripped version of google maps with a pretty clean interface. You still need the cursor, but that is to be expected.

Re: N900- Front camera activation command...

shadowjk, you really should check for facts before posting.
Front camera works with Jabber/GTalk videochat, with the only exception that you can't initiate from the n900.

Re: Android on N900?

But what if someone already has an N900? Is getting another phone to try Android really worth it?

Re: Bluetooth DUN package

First you need the package 'rootsh' to un-/install anything from terminal, then open the terminal, enter 'root' to gain privilegies and run 'apt-get install bluetooth-dun'.
That should do it.

Re: I turned "EVERYTHING" off, but Conky still reports 186 "processes" active?

In any Linuxsystem a process has very little to do with a program/package. Most of them are actually threads of a program, any given program can use any number of these threads to process stuff...

Re: Activate / using front web cam

I did a test videocall from a notebook to the n900 via googletalk. Worked pretty well and the camery seems to produce much better pictures then in the mirror app.
I haven't found a way to initiate a...

Re: Odd behaviour with apt-get

And to clarify the thing with the standard option: If you just press enter, the option in capital will be chosen. For apt-get this is usually [Y/n], so pressing enter at this prompt will choose yes.

Re: Simple audio player with low power consumption

I've never seen very much strain on the battery by listening to mp3s on the sd card.
Batterylife seems to be only really dependent on network connections.

Re: [n900] Grab what you can...! (don't worry the ship is far from sinking)

I can only comment at one thing... On the homescreen you can just start to type the name of a contact and the contactlist opens and filters in realtime. Fastest way to reach someone by far.

Re: Resizable desktop icons

You really want them bigger?
I'd like a few of them smaller, so your solution wouldn't do for me...
