USB data card on a N800?

I have a USB huewei data card for GSM that I wanted to try to get running on my N800. When hooking it up in host mode I see it is correctly identified and enumerated, but then it says:

Access SD Card ID (CID)

Does anyone know of a tool to read the SD card id in Maemo or in Debian?

Is there a way to access the SD card's SPI bus directly and read/write bytes?

ok, so i installed joy2key under easy debian (i can't find any options for maemo). Will a normal maemo program accept input from the easy debian image? How this thing works is a mystery to me.

The joystick works on XP machines. I can try the joy2key and see what happens. I'm looking for any ideas because it seems the kernel is working properly, but I'm not completely convinced of that...

Ok, I've tried lots of other apps with no luck. This joystick works on a windows xp box. Does anyone know what other tests or ideas I could try?

No I only have this one joystick. I could also be a problem with VGBA. I will give Diablo a try, it has a few more input configuration options.

I had to us a PC to download the console-tools because the N800 couldn't download it (from either link). Once installed PB's console tools fail to run when they can't open...
