Well same or not it worked fine. I think the -os2008 add on to the file name came up later in the install. this worked fine for my and my IM stuff is all working fine. Sorry I don;t use yahoo either...

Step 6 requires installing: rtcomm-beta-installer-os2008 but the only thing in my list is "rtcomm-beta-installer" is that the same thing?

sorry if this is a very silly bunch of questions. I'm in this thread because I couldn't get pidgin to work with ICQ and found it though search. I'm about to follow the instructions in here to get it...
