Re: N900 on Amazon USA!
I wouldn't suggest it necessarily makes sense, but what you're seeing when you filter by "Prime Eligible" and getting non-Prime stuff is that the *lowest priced seller* isn't offering Prime...

Re: Wayfinder maps updated!!!
Do you have a link to this? Invariably the really cheap standalone GPS/mapping units I've seen get really poor reviews... and they're typically made by some anonymous Chinese company that will...

Re: avi conversion dilemma for my N800
Correct... and on a screen so small, there's no point in even asking it to do so.
Correct again. We have a widescreen TV, and finding a DVD that doesn't have bars at the top and bottom is...

Re: A Sprint phone that works with the N800
I'm coming in somewhat late to the thread, but wanted to mention that the N800 will work with a Sprint HTC Touch... so long as you're using PDA Net. (As most people are aware, all Windows Mobile 6...

IndianGuy,
I have an HTC Touch...
TravelFeet is on the right path there: In all Sprint phones running Windows Mobile 6, the Bluetooth dial-up networking (DUN) profile has been removed (or at...

Re: Antenna issue
Actually, it's somewhat clever. This approach is called "diversity reception," and depending on how it's implemented, is something as simple as selecting the antenna that has the stronger signal...

Re: Mini-comparison: N800 and OQO 02
Good comparison, thanks.
Personally, I still prefer a keyboardless device plus an optional full-sized Bluetooth board to a device with a tiny slide-out keyboard. I have the later on my cell...

At the moment, in general, no, the N800 doesn't support printing.

Re: Getting Started with the N800
Ah... ok, well... I'm not familiar with Cingular's offerings, but I suspect that Bluetooth is enough faster than the data services that'll be available that any Bluetooth-enabled phone should work...

Re: Getting Started with the N800
Greatly! As far as I'm aware, the major carriers you'd want to consider with high-speed Internet access are Sprint (with "EVDO," sometimes referred to as "PowerVision") and Verizon (with "Edge"). ...

Re: Getting Started with the N800
JJG,
I have a Sprint 6700 and the N800 can use it as a modem just fine. If you live in an area with EVDO it's surprisingly fast.
That being said, I'm on the "regular" (not the Phone-As-Modem)...

Re: Ethernet-2-usb adapter
You'll have to wait until someone implements the driver for it (as well completing the USB host stack for the N800).
Some so-called "travel" routers are not much bigger. See, e.g.,...

Re: USB flash drive on N800
And the moment, no -- connecting a USB flash drive requires the N800 to act as a USB host, and while it appears to have the hardware to support this, the software for it isn't there yet.
I'm not...

Re: US Navicore on the N800
I think the difference is that the in-car kits have speedometer inputs, so they're much better able to "dead reckon" your position based on knowing the delay the GPS receiver creates and your current...

Re: N800 too immature?
If it's a printout for yourself, I don't think that's a problem. I agree you're not going to use this to, e.g., print out a resume for a job you actually want, though. :-) For sales receipts (one...

Re: N800 too immature?
Nah, I've seen plenty of interfaces that were worse. I think the N800's interface is quite usable, but I agree that there's plenty of room for improvement and at present no one would hold it out as...

Does anyone know why in the world Adobe wouldn't license "anything beyond Flash 7?" This seems like a surefire way to at least diminish Flash's popularity, if not kill it completely. I can't...

Re: poor quality nokia hardware again?
Same here. I starting reading this board to see what an N800 would be like, and only after doing so for a couple of weeks and having some expectations as to what it'd be like did I purchase one. So...
