I had the same problem with Earthworm Jim. Connected my N900 to my PC in Mass Storage mode and checked the disk for errors and bad sectors under WinXP. This seems to have fixed my issues.

I had the same problem. I guess that one should use the shortcut in the applications menu in order to properly uninstall the custom kernel, and not the app manager. Anyway, you simply need to reflash...

Just reflash the firmware without wiping the eMMc. I had a similar problem and this fixed it for me. After that, I had all my information and contacts intact and the phone worked fine.
