The scripts are designed to run within Maemo SDK. I run it inside a virtual machine; although my host is also Linux, but in fact the host OS doesn't matter.

Maybe that was me, I was debugging sudser :-) I'm zap on irc.

I agree there are too many gainroot packages around. But I think using sudo which is already present on any system is the proper way...

Could you try to run it from terminal and see what are the errors? (enter "mc" in terminal)

Gomez, of course I don't have anything against 770... just that I don't own one, and the garage autobuilder does not support building for 770.
