I ended up taking the phone to a maintenance guy who replaced my flash hardware.

Other than that I heard it's possible to just disable flash all-together and just take pictures without it.

So, I guess the problem is well known already: at some point the camera of the n900 stops working and whenever you open it, the message "Operation Failed" is displayed.

I did some searches and...
