Re: Hanful of linux-y n810 questions

2. - Yes, it can read/write ext2/ext3 filesystems. That's how I formatted my memory cards.

6. - The terminal. :P That's a good question though, I haven't run into any good alternative GUI file...

Re: Slackware on the N810 ?

I've used slackware for many years before I started using debian, which I've only used for about a year now. I'm not sure where you get the idea that debian is "poor-quality". It's cool to see...

Re: cannot ssh into n800 from another pc

I doubt this will help your problem at all, but since you're running dd-wrt, set up the router to always give the n800 a specific IP via DHCP, and also to give it a hostname you can call it from any...

Re: Canola beta9 UPNP (0.1.0 Alpha Release) Known issues, Bugs Feedback! Please Test

I can confirm that flac files served with mediatomb and gmediaserver show up in mediastreamer. When I go to an album with flac files in the Canola plug-in, it says "no items found". Hope this helps.

Re: Canola beta9 UPNP (0.1.0 Alpha Release) Known issues, Bugs Feedback! Please Test

I can't seem to see FLAC files in the UPNP plug-in. I'm using Mediatomb as a server, and they do not show up even with transcoding to WAV enabled.

Re: Request: TCPMP

I know that mplayer has the ability to skip frames, which will result in faster playback (automatically even, I believe). Also, of course, it can scale a high resolution video down on the fly. I do...

Re: how to play videos over a network on the n800?

I was able to get sshfs working with the packages found here (http://maemo-sdk.garage.maemo.org/download/repo/dists/alpha-1/target/chinook/binary-armel/). They aren't in the repositories yet,...

Re: how to play videos over a network on the n800?

I've been mounting a directory on my linux desktop via sshfs on my n800, and playing videos from there. Works great with mplayer.

Re: Help with Igo bluetooth keyboard drivers

I have an N800 with OS2008 (chinook) installed. I didn't need to install any extra drivers or software to get my stowaway going, so I thing you should be ready to go. Just needs to be set up in the...

Re: PDF Annotation

Yah xournal works really well for writing on PDFs, you shouldn't have any problems with it being slow. Also, the resolution on the n800 is very good so that you can zoom out and still read what's on...

Have you tried using just plain mplayer to play videos? That's pretty much all I use and I can play just about anything in my library with good speed. Even over sshfs, which involves streaming the...

Personally, I think the best thing about the n8x0 series is that it's running on a real Linux system. Plenty of devices out there let you go on the internet and check your email, but if you're...

Is the diff modified from the one for the mplayer on maemo repositories? If so I'd like to have it. Thanks. :)
