Can I still recover this N9?

So I found my N9 which I had kept in a box somewhere because it had died and wasnt getting detected by the computer and I had switched to android in the mean time.

I wanted to recover it for the sake of the good old days so I hooked it up to the pc just for the heck of it and voila it is getting detected ,though since the battery was dead I tired using:

flasher -i in hopes of charging it but that does nothing.

So I went ahead and tried

flasher -f -F rootfs.bin -F nomaps.bin --flash-only=mmc

This charges the phone thankfully but then it finishes the flashing and the phone is stuck in a reboot loop, the screen doesent even light up ( the led goes from fait to a bright white and then turns off and repeats the process)

Any help would be appreciated.

PS: Since it almost impossible to find the exact firmare anyomre I'm using the below mentioned files from here http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...00&postcount=1
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958 and
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.13-7.NOMAPS_EMMC_NOMAPS

My device variant is 059j1z5 16 GB

Code:

C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher>flasher -f -F rootfs.bin -F nomaps.bin --flash-only=mmc
flasher 3.12.1 (Oct  6 2011) Harmattan

Try flashing the rootfs.bin only first before flashing the emmc.bin

It might be that some files needed by some of your apps in rootfs were lost by reformatting the emmc and thus the bootloops

Thanks I did that now I can feel the vibrations on boot and even the nokia startup music, sadly the screen still does not power on.It stays off.

Last I checked a year or more ago perhaps the screen was working fine.I guess its a screen issue. So long to an old friend.Back in the box it goes.

Do you have any luck booting if you enable R & D mode first?

flasher --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset

Leave it some time. I had some month ago the same (after starting no UI). Some reboots doesnt change the behavior. Than i put it on and leave on the table but with charger.

After one or two hours the screen came up and everything was fine again ;)

I already have it enabled, still no luck with the screen. It just does not light up. I can feel the boot vibrations and nokia startup music but no life on the screen, its completely off.

By no UI you mean the screen was completely off? not even the backlight? coz in my case even though I can feel the boot vibrations and nokia startup music but no life on the screen, its totally off like when you turn off the phone kinda off.

One thing comes to mind; if you cannot ssh to the device at least what I'd do is to login to it via the serial connection.
Then you could enable ssh and vnc and see what's going on in the display :D

Can you point me to a thread or tutorial that shows how to go about doing that?
