Mozilla Location Service - alternative A-GPS provider?

Recent sailfish update adds support for Mozilla Location Service positioning assistance, which can use nearby wifi access points and cell towers to help determine phone's location.

Can we use it for N9 as an alternative A-GPS provider? Has anyone tried it?

I do not think so (at least system wise), as it uses https API and not SUPL protocol.

Of course a new application might take advantage of this service.

I came across an article on How To Trace An A-GPS SUPL Request
It describes a tool that probably could do the trick...
