Missing Virtual Keyboard
 

Recently the virtual keyboard has stopped popping up when I click a form with the keyboard closed. There is a TMO thread with MSCIM keyboards mentioned with lost virtual keyboard but I have not installed this.

The virtual keyboard is checked in settings/text input/use virtual keyboard.

Healthcheck shows the hardware keyboard slider sensor reporting open/closed correctly.

Probably something silly but I cant seem to figure it out for the last few days and I NEED the second keyboard for use with mstardict to translate words.

Anyone have an idea or even more things to check, maybe reinstall something?

Totally silly answer (I know), but I have no idea either:
did you try to deselect that setting and reboot?
if still not works (of course, as deselected ;)) select again in settings
if still not works, try another reboot

(comes from Windoze experience :))

-Unchecked virtual keyboard
-Removed package ukeyboard
-loaded latest CSSU and ran other updates
-Reinstalled ukeyboard
-checked virtual keyboard

I now have the virtual KB including semitic languages again
