NOKIA N9 Pricing Thread
The pricing of the N9 in Malaysia according to sources at:
http://mynokiablog.com/2011/09/14/no...p-in-malaysia/ will be 1799 RM for the 16GB unit, and 2088 more sophisticated 64GB unit, which is equal to 584/678 USD currently. I say that's about the price I paid for my first N900, but comparing that to an SGSII for instance, pay some more 20 bucks and you get a 64GB, dual-core... device. |
Re: NOKIA N9 Pricing Thread
A lot of dates and a lot of prices have been flying round the web since July. This is the usual FUD-cyclone caused by Nokia being unable/unwilling to give concrete information... and a price without a retail availability date is like a plane ticket without a plane.
Therefore: my enthusiasm for any N9 price 'information' remains zero until I can hand over cash and receive an N9 in my hand in the same moment. So when can we buy it? |
Re: NOKIA N9 Pricing Thread
16/64GB : 599/699€ announced in Finland (vs 426/495€ in Malaysia)
Some webstores are offering 569/639€ pre-order with Sep 25 delivery. Well let's wait and see, this kind of pricing isn't new with Nokia. Otherwise I think I might know where I'm going to spend this Christmas vacation. |

The main one is populated with countless other discussion points. 64GB? SGSII doesn't have 64GB. It has 16GB + the potential for 32GB+ more. I read some Malaysian dudes saying the best SGSII street prices are slightly more than then N9 64GB's RRP. As it's a RRP, the street price is bound to be way less... eventually. Of course RRP in other countries is nowhere near as good as Malaysia's Nokia being consistent in their inconsistency again. |

It's obvious it's not competitively priced in most of the markets where RRP is known, at least now. To have the slightest chance of making a dent in the markets it's targeted for... The RRP needs to start at (or just above) the SGSII's best street price, & gradually drop from there. Telco plans need to be similarly competitive, from what I've seen so far in Australia, it's not too bad. But it definitely needs to improve a bit.... If they're not more aggressive in both areas (particularly retail here), then they're setting themselves up for failure. If they can't afford to be more aggressive because they'll be selling at a loss, well than I hate to say it. But unfortunately there'll be zero commercial succes for what was to be their 1st mass-market, consumer-focussed top-end for yrs. |

Re: NOKIA N9 Pricing Thread
Thanks @jalyst for correcting. (I actually meant a stock SGSII with an aftermarket unbranded sdcard, but, nevermind)
I was really attracted to the N9, but as days go by, my interest in it flies away, highly priced to be honest, and, a dead-end. $677 64GB @http://mobiles-prices.com/Nokia-N9 $749? 64GB @http://techpp.com/2011/06/21/nokia-n9-specs-features-price-availability-more/ |
