Tutorial for NITDROID AUTO INSTALL " NO COMMAND MODE"
Hello friends
After reading alot of posts of confusion of NITDROID autoinstaller and its stucking on ext3 command, i used slight different approach and i am sharing it with U guys Step 1 : Download Faster application manager, from application manager its much faster and efficient Step 2: enabling Repository (Repository means software catalogue aka list of available softwares) There are three Repos for N900 1) Extras (enabled by default) 2) Extras-Testing (disabled by default--for Adv users only) 3) Extras -Developing (disabled by default for Adv users) Nitdroid installer is in Extras-developing U have to enable it first by manual entering following details in Faster Application manager-----> Manage repo------>New Enter details Catalog name: EXTRAs-Devel Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/ Distribution: fremantle-1.3 Components: free non-free Once done, Disable all other Repos (ovi, Extras,) and enable only new "EXTRAs Devel" repository Allow it to connect it to internet and fetch the catalogue Step 3: Now a list of software will show, now search for "Nitdroid Installer" Step 4:download it install it Step 5: Dont run it ;-) it has bug goto step 6 step 6: download and run this thing Patch to solve ext3 stuck problem http://downloads.nitdroid.com/nitins....2.7_armel.deb Step 7:Now u will see Nitdroid icon is gone Step 8:open Xterm "the msdos thing" Step 9:type nitdroid "small cap only" step 10: it will ask for "YES" type it Step 11: Now installer will connect to internet and download nitdroid image(70mb) so wait for sometime Also note that , Nitdroid will always install the image after checking the manifest, so if nitdroid 0.0.9 released manifest will be updated and Ur nitdroid install will be updated without any change in Auto installer Trouble shooting: Broken packages "Need some geek help on it" Download stuck "Run the setup again" To be continued.............. |
