Can SDL offer a lower resolution than 800x480 on the N900
 

I've compiled the phenomenal game briquolo for the N900.

However it's unplayable, as at the 800x480 resolution the pfs are around 1.

When the game starts it reports:

SDL tells that the following fullscreen resolutions are available:
800x480

Now, even when not running fullscreen only this resolution is available.

Can any lower resolution be enabled so that it's playable? Why even non-fullscreen doesn't work, as it does nicely on a PC?
