Podsync for OS2008 available

Updated version 0.0.8 for OS2008 is available.

Use podsync to manage and synchronize podcast feeds.

Update: fixed a bug which created 1 kb files instead of the podcast episode

You can download the new .deb installation file from: here.

Changes:
- Fixed a bug preventing podsync from downloading lots of podcasts (podsync did not follow 'Location:' directives)
- Runs only under OS2008
- Wget is now included in the package

You can use the media player and the automatically created playlists to listen to podcasts and delete podcasts you've listen to.

Please note:
- Doesn't connect to the internet automatically
- This is a test version, I've experienced some strange problems in the multi threaded GDK lib's functions. (Shouldn't cause any real problems though, I did not see anything strange...)

The program uses bashpodder (http://www.lincgeek.org/bashpodder) as its backend. (included in the package)

(You can install this directly on your N800/N810 if running under OS2008)

Please test, and let me know if it works! (Or if you experience problems / crashes.)

Also, could someone please tell me if this works on the N810?

Tried the install on N800 w/OS2008 Beta. Won't install. "Incompatible application package".

Hmm, something must be wrong with my debian package then.

Could you try installing it from the commandline with "dpkg -i"?

Not really sure what's the problem though, there isn't anything version specific in the debian control file. It installs fine on my N800 under OS2008, but its not yet running the official beta.

Thanks for testing, will look into it :-)

Could it be the wget?

Re: Podsync for OS2008 available

Well, wget is included as a separate binary, not as a package, and installed only for podsync's own use under "/usr/lib/podsync".

(To solve issues with possible multiple wget versions / missing packages.)

I'm no coder, I just thought that maybe the fact that you probably have wget installed already from a previous installation might be the difference between why it's working for you and not for me or paulmorin. I'll fiddle with it later today when I have some time and see if installing wget separately fixes the problem.

i was able to install it from dpkg -i but ran into the same problem using application manager.

It seems to work ok with Application Manager when installed in Red Pill mode!
