Hello to all Nokia N900 users!

As we know, The official Nokia N900 repository from http://downloads.maemo.nokia.com has been deactivated.
But many apps are dependant of some libraries which aren't available anymore.

I have made a new and easy to remember repository:
www.Maemo-Repos.com

The website has an "easy one click add repository" links.

You can also browse the repository by just going to the website.

The repo also includes:
- Official Emmc
- Custom Emmc (5GB and 8GB)
- Frimware PR 1.3.1
- Other OS distributions

I hope you guys will like this, and feedback is always welcome!

Considering your mandate to have the necessary repos and mirrors avail. for the n900...
Would you consider hosting the proper [and 3rd party catalogs] including gronmayer's [consequently I have been doing some extensive unearthing of catalogs many of which he hosts ...many which were thought to be completely lost... but which are in fact...99% salvageable] ...
Concerning just Gronmayer's...it is slowly falling apart. As it does so..it doesn't make the process impossible to recover them...just a little more time consuming for each one which needs to be recovered.
But the potential for loss of totally unrecoverable work is a terrible loss which must be stopped and preserved at all cost...there is too much valuable work at risk...
So to cut to the chase...
Would you consider this preservation ideology for the n900 to cover the 770 and the n8x0 as well?
It would make your site the Absolute only-needed one-stop-shop for maemo...period.
What you are doing just for the n900 is essentially the same goal as what my research has been working toward for the entirety of Maemo in general...

Thanks for taking this on! If it gets a lot of uptake we should
talk about supporting SSL access to. But for now... it's
really nice to have those mirrors in an easily-remembered
place.

Is there a chance to get also the devtools mirror?

A couple of thoughts:

1. Providing a backup of extras* may be confusing to users. While nokia.com is down, maemo.org is still alive and kicking. uSers may thus deprive themselves of updates
2. SInce you provide the backup of downloads.maemo.nokia.com for Fremantle, why not add the backup for N9 and especially N950 (afaik there's no working backup of the N950 repos atm)

1 ) i added extras* repos only to make it easier for user to install all repos needed (no need to search for extras* repos from google) ...and these repos are still under repository.maemo.org (all file come from official repos)

2 ) :) it is a good idea,but i dont know how to added it,what should be added ( im not a n9/N950 user ) ,if i make a backup,i dont know how to know if it is working...

That is what I have seen too on the web page, but each time I try and connect through the browser (on my desktop or on my N900) it is accessible, only from terminal with "apt-get update" I get an error.

Am I the only one to have this issues these days?

Any idea when the service will be moved on the new server?

I'm getting the same issue. Changing the URLs to https://maemo-repos.com/ rather than http://maemo-repos.com/ yields errors. I'm thinking it could be certificate related.

Works fine, so the cert seems to be OK, unless dpkg uses some other CA path...

Ideas welcome!

I'm having http urls in source.list not https, so for me the issue doesn't seem to be that.

Accessing the HTTP URLs gives an HTTP redirect to the HTTPS URL, so if this /is/ a problem then you are probably getting it too.

I haven't actually been able to prove if there is a certificate problem though - the expiry dates seem to relate to the old Nokia repos that expired in 2012.

Ok, didn't know about the HTTPS redirect.

For me (on Firefox, on my desktop computer) I see a Let's Encrypt certificate that is valid until 30/04/2017 for https://maemo-repos.com/apt-mirror/

I think I've found the cause of all the errors.
Today while visiting the site with my desktop browser and clicking around, I had at every folder change, a link shortened page with a click button to skip ads. I think that maybe when apt-get tries to get the packages info it gets stuck with this... hope I'm not saying nonsense.

Just wondering, if I were to mirror the following repos how much space would I need to do so (for each and every one of this repos)?

The "Community SSU(testing)" link doesn't work.

You have to go to the URL bar and delete "target=" to download the file.

first of all, i am sorry for the ads. the good news is i have remove it. i hope u all will continuously supporting maemo.repos. i don't need a lot of money as i am currently using hosting instead of server. i added the ads just to get some funds to pay the hosting, but don't need much. I have no problem removing the ads and it is fine with me.And if u guys want to make donation ,u are very welcomed for that.
About the hosting files for free @l_bratch,i think i prefer to host it myself because it has been 3years i done it on my own,thanks for your offer!;) :). I'm verry happy for that and i will be more happy if u guys want to share the files in my website as i would like to make maemo repos alive for ever. U guys are very welcomed to give me any suggestions for our repos,i like to work together with u guys to make all of us happy using maemo repos..(sorry for the late reply ,because i working during the day,and i already received your donation @pichlo ,TQVM:) :) :) )
