Hello,

A few months ago, I got a confirmation from Nokia, that I was eligible for a discount code to be used at the Nokia 770 web shop.
But as of today, I still haven't received any code in the mail....

Is anyone else in the same situation?

I haven't' received a code yet either. I received the confirmation in July and sent them my contact information that they requested. I haven't heard anything since...

I think that this may be happening:

I supose they're still reprogramming the devices (with the latest fw)...
So they only send the codes when the a batch of units (50?) become ready to ship...
The first 50 (or so) units got done, and they've sent the codes and started shiping those... everyone else on the list will have to wait a little longer...
(maybe they-re reprograming the units, manually, one-by-one...)
but it's already been 4 days...

can anyone confirm this?
also, can anyone with an "inside" contact let us know what's really happening?

Another day has past... and still... I didn't get a code in my mailbox.... :(
I'm getting very disapointed.... It's been 5 days...

Did everyone who got a code, got it on monday?
or did anyone receive on a later day?

Except for that guy in Kentucky selling a "Brand new Nokia 770 Internet Tablet" on eBay (with original-looking photos and last bid at $305), it seems that no one in the Americas has received a code or device. Or if they have, they haven't written about it in their blog or to the Maemo mail lists.

I live in Europe... so I guess it's not only the Americans who didn't get a code yet...

10 days.... yes... it's already been 10 days since the 770 started to ship to developers...
And guess what... I STILL DON'T HAVE A CODE... NO EMAIL... NO NOTHING!

The initial expectations are turning into disapointment...

The least that they [Nokia/Maemo] could do, is to send an email to everyone accepted in the program, that didn't receive a code yet, and tell us what's going on!

I'm very... very disapointed....

I agree. But I bet it's an engineer who's responsible for sending these out, and not someone who usually manages contacts with 500 outsiders. Managing people's expectations is totally different than handling the problem of distributing 500 devices in somewhat piecemeal fashion.

Well.. I just got an email.... :)
No, it's not THE code..
but I am told that I will receive it, at a later date, "as soon as they can"...
So, it just won't happen yet.
I don't know if this means another week, or another month... but hey.. at least it's something... :o

I guess this aplies to everyone who received a confirmation, but didn't receive a code yet.
