Updated OS 2007 Already Available - v. 2.2006.51-6
There is an update to OS 2007 for N800 users only, available at http://europe.nokia.com/A4305010
My N800 shipped with version 1.2006.47.20 on it. I would recommend upgrading before you waste too much time installing 3rd party applications. |

Hey, will the new OS 2007 only work with the N800? And not the 770 that I have? As in, am I already on my last OS upgrade? I guess?

Yes (officially). It will, but not very reliably or quickly. No, not necessarily.
See Ari Jaaksi's comments on planet.maemo.org, for example. |

"Mine is made in Finland "
Are all N800 devices made in Finland? The prototype that was filed at the FCC was made in Korea. I prefer Europian builds, so I would like to know were you bought your n800 and were it was build. With the Nokia 770 it seemed that most European customers got a German 770 and most American got a device from Estonia. I would like to know what ithe situation is with regard to the N800 |

N800 made in: Korea Shipped OS: 1.2006.?? (Whatever the first revision was) Purchased from: CompUSA in Edison, NJ I should mention here I am on my 2nd N800. I believe it is my fault however. I attempted to edit /usr/share/themes/default/matchbox/theme.xml to shrink the system fonts a little, but I wound up putting the device in a continuous reboot loop. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery. After that even a reflashing would not rescue the device. I think the continuous rebooting must have caused the unit some physical damage. Of course, it may have also just been defective. |
