N900: Tethering without enhanced Kernel?

Is there any way to provide tethering to my Nexus 7 from the
N900 without using any enhanced kernel?

Did not find an answer here or in Google.

Would you be willing to use Bluetooth DUN or PAN instead of WiFi?

Does that Nexus 7 support ad-hoc wlan?

If yes, you can do tethering (with MobileHotSpot or Joiku-whatever)

unfortunatly, the N900 and the Nexus 7 wont work together very well via Bluetooth in Standard settings. Dont know why, because before I had the Nexus 7, Bluetooth Thetering alsways worked very well.
