What TV Downloaders are there? (ie. BBC Iplayer)

After successfully downloading from the bbc iplayer, i'm chuffed.... Just had another wow moment!

Are there any other similar players, or methods that can be used, as i'm in the UK i'm particularly thinking of:
  • Sky
  • ITV
  • Channel 4

But happy to include other countries channels in the thread, as other people may be interested?!

Now i know they all allow people to view programs online (I do have a sky box+multiroom, so could use sky-player on my laptop)

But I'm more intrigued about the possibility of getting it on my n900 (I'm happy to be fair with drm'd versions, that allow 7 days etc of view) - but would love to know if any techies think it is possible? :)

try
http://www.tvcatchup.com/ or the Ipoop optimised version
http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/

both should work , you just need to register but a lot of live channels.(its not really catchup but live streaming)

tvcatchup is quite jerky and the iphone version doesnt work for me unfortunately. Ive been using it in the past to listen to commentary though as the sound is uninterrupted.:p

Ahhh that suggests it's not a downloader like the iplayer method.

I'd rather use a downloader and watch the stored files.

The get_iplayer software (http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer) used to support other UK broadcasters like ITV, Channel 4 and Five, but the broadcasters kept changing things to try and avoid people downloading the programs.

I can confirm that the iplayer hack does not work for ITV or Channel 4 catchups. Both seem to come up with the error, "This does not look like a programme ID or a recognised programme url:"
