Maemalians : Friends of Maemo

On good suggestion by Kinggo...
Here is a thread devoted to our loyal companions who sit by us while we putter and fiddle away on our devices...
Since this is in off topic...
If we do not write here periodically....
The thread will disappear.

Post your fav pics of your bestie beasties...
Or ones you have run into...
:)

Beautiful calico ...
Yeah..
I feel you ....
loud and clear

It never gets easier ...
No matter how old we get...
Or how many friends we have to help pass more gently from this life.
But better to live with that grief that never goes away...
No matter how many pass either...
Than never have them beside us to begin with.

All my old companions ...
It is painful enough knowing they are gone.
I just try to remember the best of times with them.

I always get a new one soon after. I mean, life goes on and it easier for me and better for the little one. Or a big one in this case since I got another MC, this time male.

Nice pictures.
Haha ...yeah...the more time around people ...the more individual companions become ...
Read a great deal about that...
Many think ot is our individual souls...that rub off on animals that spend time with us more...
And they gain more of their own "person" ...to their own souls...and less collective or herd personality or soul.
I gre up with animals my whole life ...
Living on a farm...
I saw it all...
And I believe it.

Re: Maemalians : Friends of Maemo

Maemeowians would be a sub category pertaining to meowsers...I would imagine...
(It is good though...)

This halloween I may get the food colouring out and do my cat in Maemo colours and logo...
turn him into an official Maemeowian for the festive night.

Since Eddie lost his front left leg and right eye...
I have an eye patch, a buccaneers hat...a plushy parrot to hide on his back ...and a fabric "wooden peg leg" for him...
He does look dashing in it.
Almost as good as Barkcula with his little purple bat ears and bat wings...
But he has been Barkcula a few years running now...Got pictures of him in his Barkcula outfit...He loved it ....the ham...
I will have to dig them up.

Re: Maemalians : Friends of Maemo

It isn't easy is it?
Yeah...
About 4 ..5...years ago...
I lost 3 great cats in two years...
The first to old age...he was a great cat ...18 years old...
Fit ...up to the end..
And the other two to FIV ..
They were in their prime too..
It was a very hard couple of years there.

I can't recall well...
I have almost a million books, texts and manuscripts I have collected over the decades...
All inevitably converted to e formats..(I could only keep hard editions of my favourites ...it became too much when I ended up having a library that encompansed most of the house...thank god for tech in that respect...it allowed me to keep my books...and have copies of others I had read and loaned out and never gotten back...or lost...or downsized ...and then regretted ...)
But I think it was Madame Blavatsky ...
(Who amongst others during that time period were of interest to me...and whose writings stick in my head...)
But if memory serves...
There is one thing that still holds me above all her esoteric philo and theo ...
And it was her quoted questioning,
on her own deathbed...
Questioning "why must the innocent unknowing animals suffer?"
That always stuck with me...
Displaying an unheard of selflessness whilst dying..
Being more concerned and more intent on the welfare of others...especially those who cannot rationally reason their own mortality .....
