Hi, thanks you for this application. I'm using it, no problem on install, received the code to sync all of contacts. Good. One thing, maybe it's possible. Can you do an option to change the color of the strip ? (actually green).

SO have a nice day !

Coderus, you are making an amazing job from Symbian, then Harmattan and now the sailfish adventure begins.

So, i sent you a little donation and most of us should give you something (even 1$).

Thanks a lot to you and your girl ;)

Ok, I'll be that guy.
Can we have emoji support? :p

No, I'm joking, they'll come when they'll come.
I think the pulley menu needs some tweaking though, too many entries. Many of them could be grouped into "Settings" and made accessible via a menu page rather than directly in the pulley (imho). Also, it would be nice to have some way to sort/filter the contacts (online/offline mainly).

Anyway, thank you coderus, good job as usual. I was going to report a small bug in which after using the pulley menu the scrolling on the message list got stuck (present in the preview version from yesterday) but I see it's already fixed in the new one.

When do you think you are going to publish it in harbour? Would be great to have automatic updates ;)

@Watchmaker you can add my openrepos repository and receive updates :D
it will be published to harbour when stable :)

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

A native whatsapp is very welcome. I guess switching back and forth between this and android whatsapp is going to be a problem with registration, like with yappari? So maybe I'll wait a bit before trying it out.

Will there be a possibility for multiple chat windows? That's the one thing I really really miss from yappari. But is it even doable that way in Sailfish?

thomholwerda 2013-12-26 13:34

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Thanks for the hard work on bringing us a WhatsApp client already! So quick :).

Anyhow, I'm not receiving the registration code - I entered the phone number in the way WhatsApp always wants it to (international format), but the SMS never arrived. I can't retry right away (it gives me a message about having to wait xx number of minutes), but I will do so once it's possible.

coderus 2013-12-26 14:33

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Ozymandias first question: http://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/21009863
and ui changes wont be in near future.
@thomholwerda you can try entering random 6 digits, and after fail use voice call request.

Ozymandias 2013-12-26 14:44

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Sooo.... that means that on the same device with the same number I can use both (not at the same time, of course.)?

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

It worked fine the second time! The application works great too!

Well, as Alien Dalvik presents itself as "alien_bionic_unknown" or something similar, and I think Sailfish in Jolla presents itself as Jolla, then whatsapp servers think they're different devices. Just my guesswork, though.

Ozymandias 2013-12-26 15:39

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Oh, i would have thought the device recognition would work via IMEI. Well in that case I'll just wait a little longer, but looking forward to using this app :)

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Ozymandias no, one day you will be banned.

Same problem here. So far I had a notification on the first message that came, after that complete silence. On the multitasking view it says "Logged in. No unread messages" even if there are new messages. But still, its a lot more reliable in delivering the messages than the actual whatsapp with Jolla.

IMO that's true -- you ran one app and register with one code. You ran second app and you can't reuse old code, you have to generate new one. At least my experience with different apps on N9.

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Could you use some extra spacing between the sent vs incoming messages in the chat window?
Or use the native sailfish chat layout?

Small bug;
emails are not shown correctly in the chat window if following format is used: <firstname>.<lastname>@provider.com ; the link is only active on the part after the "."

Also phone rebooted after I launched the app (latest version)
Don't if it has something to do with this one but didnt do anything else...

Is there a way to move data from the N900 yappari client to the sailfish client?

Message history, contacts, things like that?

ZioBilly 2013-12-26 18:56

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

An idea could be the customization of ringtone and led colour for the app, or even for each contact
Anyway, good job!
I really like the idea of the name ;)

It seems that my friends see me as "whatsapp user" although I changed it to TQP1. Nickname changes back to whatsapp user after reboot.

Thanks for your effort Coderus, keep up the good work :)!
