Re: ..And I Actually Thought The Backup App Was Good?!! [N900]
This is completely sideways told.
- It works for lot of people as it should work - There is and there is going to be troubles with it --> make bug reports What you have done is something that average user would never ever do. Installing kernel modules from testing/development repositories. Would you please share you "boring" story so that i do not have to scroll and read whole linked thread. Try to keep it nice and simple and informative. .edit Ok. It was quite small thread. And know what? I did not learn anything. Oh why on earth people think that what have they done to their system applies to all the other users. Try be more specific and informative about this issue so we can eventually somehow probably make bug report if we found something out. |
Re: ..And I Actually Thought The Backup App Was Good?!! [N900]
The backup app restores whatever configuration was on there previously, so if you'd stuffed it up before the backup then it would still be stuffed up after restoring. Did you try to narrow down which part of the restore was causing the issue?

I would say that all N900 users should read this if they are trying to make a Playstation 3 SixAxis Bluetooth controller pair with their N900s.
The backup program has worked great for me, but I wasn't using it the way you were. |
Re: ..And I Actually Thought The Backup App Was Good?!! [N900]
I've had the same issue (backup, flash, restore, unable to install apps that were installed before).
my proposed solution I'm going to try shortly: 1. backup 2. flash 3. download apps that were installed before 4. restore |
Re: ..And I Actually Thought The Backup App Was Good?!! [N900]
I guess that you added some repositories to the application manager, that were deleted after the flash, and when you wanted to restore the applications, you were unable to do so, because the app manager did not know where to restore it from?
I think that the backup does not save the apt sources list. |
