Bizarre Restoration of (some) Default Settings

My n800 for some reason stalled trying to populate the available wifi list. So I pulled the battery out and rebooted. No big deal. I pull the battery out every so often with no side-effects (except for battery life).

But this time, upon rebooting, my microB homepage has been reset to the default home.html; my user-agent is back to default user-agent; and my hardware key bindings are back to where the d-pad up/down moves from link to link, instead of page to page.

so let me ask: WTF?

Update: whatever is going on is also causing microB to lose its settings upon terminating the browser. For example, it reverts to the standard user-agent when I close and then relaunch the browser.

This sucks.

Have the permissions or ownership of /home/user/.mozilla been changed?

not sure. certainly not intentionally. anything I can do to check/fix?

I was about to reflash because I can't live without the iphone user-agent spoof and page-by-page d-pad scrolling. But i'm open to solutions.

Just restored from an acronis true image backup from Feb 8th. Same output on that, but all is working fine.
