A working metronome can be obtained as follows:

On the n810:

1) Visit this web site: http://www.metronomeonline.com
2) Menu -> Web page -> Save as -> (Type = Complete web page)
3) Using the filemanager, visit the directory where you saved it.
4) Browse through the directory and you will find a Flash file called "metronome"
5) double-click on this Flash file and a web browser will open with a working metronome. (A warning will appear, just click OK).

(You can delete all the other files, only the Flash file is required).

I'll try and build maetronome/gtick form OS2008 ...
the problem with running the binary directly might be that it is run from a shell script with a few env var setted up before ...)

It looks like there is is a problem with the esd used by gtick ... (Bus Error) I'm afraid it's beyond me capacities ... sorry

anyone get Tuner working on OS2008?

I am still stuck not being able to find an OS2008 copy of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-extra

found it: I needed to add this SDK repos:

deb http://repository.maemo.org/ chinook free non-free

Pychord 0.4 doesn't work into OS2008. Sorry.

Please, wait some days because I'm re-writing it from scratch.
In fact, it is doing all the things that the old version used to do, with some improvements.

I think that I will finish it until next easter holiday(23/03/2008), and release a beta version. And, on day 30, release the final version.

So, pay attention on maemo-news and PlanetMaemo.

I've used the N800 with Maemo recorder to record a few riffs and things so I don't forget them, and it works pretty well, but you have to make sure to set .wav as the format, otherwise it is mostly garbled. Also, I've had a few songs apparently disappear, which is a bummer. The files, which at one time worked fine, now open, but don't play anymore.

I have the gstreamer plugin installed but when I try to install the .deb I get a message saying 'Installation file is corrupted'. Any suggestions?

which frequencies to input in "Tuner tool" to correspond to guitar strings? ie>short tutorial on how to tune guitar using "tuner tool" plz!
