Camera phone competition July 2015:"Puzzles"

This month requires a little thinking. It's puzzle time. :)

saponga says:
Everyone that loves GNU/linux (either beeing a coder or not), likes to solve puzzles. Because the flexible nature of the OS you need try a lot before get something done the exact way you want it. So, i'd like to see what kind of puzzles you guys like to play with. Everything counts: toys, games, crosswords, a bug, even a chess movement... You name it. As usual, feel free to depict the theme as wide as your imagination gets. And please, forgive my terrible english. Hope you've got the idea.

As usual, the rules are:
Photos must be taken during this month
Photos must be taken by the posting member
Photos must be taken with a camera phone
Users post only one photo per entry
Users can change the entry only once
Users must name the phone they used
(so I could include it for voting)
Last three days of this month are for voting

Please don't forget to name the phone you used to shoot the photo with because I need to include it in the voting thread!

Last month's theme.

Happy shooting.

That was exactly the image in my mind when i first thought about this month's theme. Just maybe a bit more brighter. Anyway, the ultimate puzzle... and it's sooo beautifull !!!
Taken with an N900, as always.

Ok... Tetris wins but c'mon... the Rubik's cube doesn't even need electricity !!!

Nowadays there are so many electronic version of Sudoku or crossword on phones or pads, but I still prefer playing on newspaper, can't feel the same way on phones. (Especially knowing the fact that I can cheat by using hints on phones.) :)

The real question is, is that how you write the number "2", or did you think all of your 2s were 9s?

Well, that's how I learned to write numbers back before the wars... I know nowdays they have streamlined the alphabet and numbers too, even here they left out the crossbar from number 7!

I always cross my 7s (and my Zs). Ever since learning algebra and suffering the consequences of mistaking numbers and letters in my hurried scratchings.

In that same vein, here's a 3D puzzle that's kind of fun to take apart and put back together again:

Of course, the secret key to solving this particular puzzle is a putty knife. :)

This pic taken on July 3rd, with an HTC One M8.

EDIT: Sorry about the link, I think I've got it working now. Maybe. :)

Here is my entry for this month, wanted to enter with my favourite board game. Have a huge collection of major and mini expansions, but they are in my home in Shanghai, don't have a chance going to China anytime soon.

http://www.liangchenchen.com/wp-cont...722_201903.jpg

So here I changed to another type, this is part of my mathematical and logic puzzle books collection. And the opening one is my favourite amongst all. First published on 1915, (yes that's exactly 100 years ago.) re-print on 2007. The 2007 version is like photocopied, keeps almost everything on the 1915 edition, even with a prize offer which ended on Jan 1916. (I think there is a typo on the number of year.) Every puzzle here is illustrated with a nice picture and I appreciate both insight and the artwork from 100 years ago.

Took with my mini tablet - the BlackBerry Passport.

I've gotta go with #1, saponga. It's a beautiful picture of a superb puzzle toy (which drove me nuts when I was a kid :) ).

#4 - Copernicus. Love the lateral light. As for the Rubick's cube, I was addict too but at that time, without internet, I didn't know that it could be solved with a few easy algorithms. These days anyone can learn how to solve it <5min with just 1 day of practice.

Got to say 1. Saponga for the vibrant colors and simple geometry.
