Get Cordia , on Maemo.org homepage

IT says you can get full hildon desktop experience on meego.

When I click on the banner no link shows up. Anyone know where I can download the hildon desktop for meego (cordia)

thanks!

You're thinking of meecolay. Cordia was a project to port the Hildon UI to meego; here is a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxG40LvV9A4. I don't know what happened to it, though.

It's practically dead - no one ever announced it, but it got abandoned. Quite the same with every project started by Smoku ;) Talented boy, but one thing that you can be certain of, is that none of his "children" will ever reach maturity. Unless someone else grab the leftover code and push it forward, that is (but with Cordia, it wouldn't make much sense, mind you).

Also, just for the record - it was a desktop env. for Mer, not Meego/Harmattan.

Yea I read somewhere an article on the end of project ...

Since the sources are gone https://github.com/organizations/Cordia

Maemo council suggested to replace this banner to an other active community project ... Is it fair ?

Re: Get Cordia , on Maemo.org homepage

I depends which project it is :D

Board can decide to support any related project they like to, but take care to do so only for really credible things. Cordia was vaporware since day 1, made by developer with looong history of abandoning projects and releasing everything in 1/10 baked state. If the other project is the one that I'm thinking about, it's also "led" by person notorious of being "last man standing" in his project, leaving things in total mess.

No one will start rebellion if Board/Council decide to back up wrong project another time, but IMO, it would be a little ashaming, if second thing i nrow from front page would turn up rotten at the end, don't you think?

I love "vaporware" when it gives us some kind of fresh air, when it calls developers for new tasks, provides new updates and fixes for all the community, and probably will give an option for the future of the maemo.org.

Please, stop criticism and go ahead with something concrete.

1 for neo900 as it thrives to get an open hardware and there is a strong essence of continuing freemantle on it ;)
