transmission-daemon outdated?
 

Hey guys!

I was so glad that I got transmission-daemon running on my N900 and have full control via transmission-remote, web interface and transdroid. Then I noticed that the 98 torrents produce almost no upload. Before I migrated them it was definetely much higher.

- the port is successfully forwarded
- adding and downloading of torrents is not a problem
- the version is 1.76 (9395)

On the forum of transmission I was told it could be that the version is too old. But there are no later versions for maemo, are there? I "looked everywhere"...

Is it possible to install a later Debian package of transmission-daemon, as suggested on transmissionbt.com?

Or must I just accept that there is no later version for maemo than that from 2009/10? Which would disqualify TD completely for serious filesharing on the N900.

There is no newer version for fremantle available.

I added transmission to the google docs table in this thread.
If there are some people willing to donate I could try to update it.
However I don't need it and don't want to spend my free time for nothing.

I'm willing to donate a bit for a updated version of transmission-daemon. The main problem of N900 today is the lack of updates / newer versions for apps etc...

I have an update script from 1.76-1 to 2.84 only the transmission-daemon. No deb files:(
If you are interested and you like to test the new daemon I could provide it.

There is already a tester and one noble donator who made this update possible.
However a new debfile would be nice. I struggle to create one. I will see.

Thanks for updating the script, I can wait until you create a deb file to test it.
