Ouch... now everybody seeing sailfish for the first time from this video will think it is unusable or still in alpha.
How does this douch manage to not trigger the ambiance menu ten times in a row
Why is he only flipping around the homescreen? Show the Camera, settings and version, open some apps and switch...
It would have been better if Jolla staff had guided him. What a fail.

For now, JollaFR video did only show native apps in appdrawer, sadly.

At 1:17, we can also see there is no "Android Support" menu in the parameters app (should have been between "Data Counters" and "Reset Device"). So it was either not installed, or not supported...
Anyway, good to see such a device supported.

To be fair, if you look back at Jolla's own original 'trailer' for the Jolla 1, they actually show off two bugs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfAixpkzcBQ
See 0:48 where the screen/phone shuts down for no reason (the good old bug everyone loved!), and 1:15, where the phone app refuses to minimise.

Huh, even though I'm still of the opinion that smartwatches and all that stuff are solutions to problems that don't exist, that does look nice for running on such a small screen. For sure I would complain less about it if an acquaintance was wearing one.

Now all we need is a decent hardware keyboard add-on.

That video reminds me of the film JOY, where some idiot without any knowledge of how the product works, does a demo on TV, making it look like a bad product. Can't they get someone who has used Sailfish to demo it? People seeing the video without knowing how Sailfish works would think it is bad..

I have an XA, bought as a spare while my Z1 Compact was in for repair.

The XA has a number of fatal flaws.

1) There isn't enough storage left from the 16GB after you've updated the built in Android apps. It's terrible.

2) Sony disabled the feature in Android 7 where you can adopt your SD card as storage. They also removed the feature from Android 5/6 which let you move apps to your SD card in bulk.

3) It uses a MediaTek chipset which eats battery (The XA's battery isn't large) and it isn't on the Open Device Program, which only has Qualcomm chipsets.

They've just released a new XA1 which comes with 32GB storage so that'll fix some of the issues surrounding storage.

The X Compact is ok but for me it fails at being a true Sony Compact in that they use a slower CPU than the bigger phones and they also dropped the waterproof capability. The slower CPU is passable but I use my phone in the rain on my bike's handlebars.

And that's why I'm back with my Z1 Compact.

IMHO The last decent phone they did was the Z3 Compact but they're not updating that with Android 7.

Screech ! that just about covers everything.

Mediatek is almost (not quite) as horrible as BayTrail.

Somewhat akin to having a quantum computer,
where cache memory is stored inside a hallucination.

Gives new dimension to the concept of "randomly unpredictable".

Amen! A small screen is where the swipe interface really shows its benefits. Unlike a large screen, where it is mostly a hindrance.
