[Help]Overclocked N900 resets CPU speed to 805MHz automaticaly

I have Kernel for powerusers installed (v49).

With QCPUFreq i change the CPU speed when i need to.
Most of the time i let it on default but overclocked:

Min CPU: 250 MHz
Max CPU: 900 MHz
Scaling Gov: ondemand
Smart Reflex: enabled

Everything was fine but all of a sudden (after a week) it started changing by itself.
i can set any speed i want but after 5 minutes or so it sets itself to this:

Min CPU: 500 MHz
Max CPU: 805 MHz
Scaling Gov: conservative
Smart Reflex: enabled

I had this problem before. i thought i did something wrong so i reïnstalled power kernel.
Now the problem returned...

I do remeber there were updates for the battery-patch.
Could this have something to do with it or what could i do to prevent this from happening again?

;)

oh yeah, I noticed this strange behavior for me too. But now as you are talking about Battery Patch update, I realize that we faced the same problem. I did never enable Smart Reflex, but I saw the box ticked in QCPUFreq.
A Solution will be highly appreciated. And thanks for your feedback!

Have you tried disabling smart reflex?
It's known to be stable only up to 805 mhz, above this it may
crash instantly, or some seconds later, or return to 125 mhz and so on...
Check if you are using Smartreflex VDD_2.

you can use conky to see minfreq and maxfreq
I think there is problem with QCPUFreq

batterypatch clocks the speed automatically, when screen is locked it clocks @ 250-500 i think, when you work with ur n900 it clocks up to 500-805! look at the batterypatch thread.. somewhere there is listed where both preferences are saved, maybe you can customize them there ;)

Check if you are using Smartreflex VDD_2.

When you disable smartreflex, it is reactivated after a reboot (hmm, not so sure, but i will try)
Anyway, when I put on my phone this morning, smart reflex was activated.

Re: [Help]Overclocked N900 resets CPU speed to 805MHz automaticaly

i used smartreflex even at 1.1GHz without any problems.. (for 10 minutes then i changed to 900MHz again)

and i don't really know what the battery patch does, i just saw it and installed.
I also read somewhere the speedpatch could have something to do with it..

i'll uninstall batterypatch and see how it goes :)

Re: [Help]Overclocked N900 resets CPU speed to 805MHz automaticaly

this is caused because of the auto switch after unlocking/locking your phone

if you have batterypatch installed then edit /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/overclock to change the max CPUfreq
