Returning my N900

Hi all, I am about to cancel my contract with vodafone and return my N900 .. I got it last Friday and I have 7 days to return... I am calling them tomorrow to see if I can have the HD2 instead... and return this one....

Its the last day tomorrow, if they wont take it back, I will sell it and get the nexus one....

There's much more apps for android than maemo.... and much better support on the xda forum for the HD2....

Good for you.
What don't you like about the N900? What doesn't it do that you were expecting it to do?

Its lagging since this afternoon... lack of profiles ( general, silent, outdoor, meeting) like the previous nokias... i dont see the point of open source - maybe because I Dont understand and use linux.... i have to use it all the time in landscape... I have to charge the battery twice a day.... Its a long process to call someone, due to lack of call key... the media player stopped responding earlier on.... and lot more...

theres also a lot of things i like, but there seems to be no solution for the existing ones...

I'm used to registry tweaks, customised ROMS...

DISCLAIMER: I am not starting another rant on here... I gave a reply to what I dont like abt the phone.. ........

This happens when you don't know what you are buying.

this seems to be the common answer to people who report shortcomings of N900: you dont know what you are buying........lol. people are buying what is advertised and in this day and age of well polished devices who would expect such basic shortcomings?

honestly, i did not that this os was so half baked. i have ranted here many times on various issues BUT this device is still the best in its class. combine it with an open source os, wow!

Iphone/nexus/... work very well for folks who want stuff handed in a platter for a hyped gadget. this n900 if poperly used has tremendous capabilty unlike ANY phone out there.

i would buy this phone all over again .... that's just my stupid opinion.

glad you realized what you want, good luck on yor search for your phone mate.
