Does anyone have a phone with Tizen?

Hi, I've been looking for a phone with Tizen for a long time. In my opinion, the best was the Samsung Z3 and then the Samsung Z4. Unfortunately, I didn't find any for sale with shipping to the EU.

Is there any way to get one?

I know they are very bad phones, but I would like to have one if it is not very expensive.

Sorry to say, not sure you will fine much help on a forum for Maemo (sailfish).

Don't they have tizen centric forums that might be more knowledgeable ?

At least it is a valid question as Tizen is a (far) relative of Maemo, okay more to Harmattan / MeeGo.

But also agree that the chance of getting answer here for a Samsung OS is close to nil.

Yeah I've seen those charts and argued with a friend that tizen is derived from meego.

However if you look at the long history and development, most of meego frameworks seem to have been remove ... at the very least qt type apps that would keep app running on maemo and meego easily ported to tizen .. gone. So that and eventually Samsung only development made me never to consider it for a phone.

Now the watch is awesome, but probably riddle with security holes.

I think this article talk about the situation pretty accurately, https://www.itworld.com/article/2737...of-meego-.html

And security issue here, https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/x...ulnerabilities

Hello, unfortunately I am not a developer. I'm just passionate about alternative operating systems and peculiar phones. I like to test their operating systems and, in a way, travel to the past in which we had more alternatives. Currently, everything is very limited, there is little to choose from.

I have tried several phones over these years. Most of them I used as a main phone, even when their operating systems were already obsolete. Currently, I can no longer use phones with obsolete systems as if they were my main phone. Over the years, I have been acquiring more responsibilities in my life (like any adult) and this has reduced my chances of taking risks. I can no longer afford to spend days without being called by phone because I am fixing my phone. Well, I can't do that anymore, but I can keep getting excited, I can still be curious and I can try to get some time at home to be able to warm my "old junk".

Sorry for my bad English, I'm still learning.

For community interest, I would prefer to have those rare devices into developers hands ...

Ok, thanks. If anyone else has one of these phones, please write to me.

Good cause: curiosity. Good standpoint: aware of security. Hope you find some. I just made a one second decision while in online market place. Checked for old laptops. Read only "Olivetti, -95, workoing condition, price 20€" and a picture of a red laptop. One second decision, 10 seconds I called the seller, half an hour and I had picked it up. The sellers wife and neither my own wife didn't see any point on buying that 12mb ram laptop. But I love to try to work with it and make the most of it . So I hear what you answered "Why and what for Tizen?"
