Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

Willing to pay international shipping as well if not from USA. Can't seem to find the otterbox case anywhere :(

Long story short,

On my guard duty, my phone got ran over by a vehicle and survived with the screen pretty much fudged. I replaced the screen and everythings in working order..but after that scare I thought about investing in a nice case...

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

FINALLY!
After hunting hi and lo ....
I have found a place selling the n900 otterbox
there are 5 in stock...
and I believe they want 239 pesos...(about 20 bucks canadian) ...anyway it better be in pesos! :D
and I trust them as far as I can ....
naw... [sigh] ..I just can't be bubbly about this one...
I just can't bring myself to hope on this one guys...
I don't trust them at all.
But if anyone wants to play mexican roulette with their money...get back to us and tell us if they are legit.
THEN I'll throw money at it.
I'd take the gamble ...but I sprang the last time for a dubious n900 case from a "store" in asia and never got a thing.
So..someone else's turn this time round.

How many people on the forum use these cases seems like good protection but how much bulkier does it make n900..

Not by much ..if you've seen otterboxes on other devices the additional thickness is negligible ...visually on a n900 it may make it seem like you now own a brick.
It can't be worse than a silicone case...got one for n900.
or the pdair aluminum and neoprene-lined case...got 2 - 1 for n810 1 for n900.
and it can't be worse to a proper leather book-case..
love mine...3 leather pdair book-cases - 2 for n800 and 1 for n900
and a boxwave for my n810's with 2 card slots and slots for debit' credit, ident. .. protective plastic skin over keyboard. ...(best book design ever frankly)

Naw the otterbox can't be worse than any of those aesthetically...
and frankly I like the protection...
I know over the years I have dropped every device I have....repeatedly....Thank goodness for my cases...Never walked around without a case on any of them. All are in stellar condition....Thanks to my cases.
Don't care for the lack of protection of the silicone's open face...nor having to get the thing apart just open the device back.
Don't care for the lunky flip-up hinge on the aluminum case..awkward ...but it is effective
Love my book-cases though. classy ... and great protection and access.

If a soul's got a Nxx0 ....
I Highly suggest getting a case of some sort...
.

I use it and it's big. There's a rubber lining in the hard shell. It also protects the screen from scratches from being laid face down with a ridge around the outside that also kinda bites into the ear when held tightly. Still, it's great protection.

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

I got a friend travelling in south america to buy two cases from the mexican site mentioned earlier in the thread.

One of the cases is protecting my n900.

My plan was to use the other case to protect my future neo900 but since it probably wont fit due to the extra height of the device I'm willing to let it go for what I paid + shipping. The case is in original package. PM me if you are interested.

^^^^ WHA?
what the heck is the last post?
Is your cat playing on the keyboard?
I think we had something similar a while back...
I remember!

One of us members was on transit with their device
I got pretty worried over the garbled undecipherable post he did!
I seriously thought it was the poor guy having a seizure!

he had his device in his back pocket ...
and his butt texted a post here!
when he said as much I about fell off my chair I was laughing so hard..

Hahahaha...
ah!
good times!

Hey man...
Tell your cat to get his OWN maemo account..
and to stop using yours.

:D

This was funny. : D What do you take? )... and i don't have cat, what very sad. ((

My last post just for update thread. So that more people could see what I'm looking for this protection. I would write just 'up', but forum script, blocks short posts.

Best Regards.

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

Xsive Pro, I recommend you to read the thread. You may notice a pattern: want to buy, want to buy, want to buy... Not a single want to sell. Does that tell you anything? Perhaps it should.

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

I don't see any pattern pichlo.....

ooooh!

I get it!

Lots of people want to buy one...

and there is a hoarder who won't sell!

Bumping - or should I call it upupupping.. - this post once a while seems to be the best approach indeed, also visit this site regularly and you could check a virtual local marketplace. Best marketplaces have an option to be notified when something is being sold.

I bought one this year on a local Dutch virtual marketplace and I am pretty sure it was the only one sold in the last two years on that site...
It might take a while before you will get one, but they are out there.

And no, sorry, not interested to sell mine ;)

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

I hate to tell you Xsive Pro...
But I don't think there are many people here who have an otterbox for the n900...
Those that do have cases....probably aren't going to give them up.

I do suggest keeping an eye on this thread and the "want to buy n900" threads as well....
someone may eventually sell either an otterbox ...or an n900 with an otterbox.

I do have another suggestion...
A generic case...for your n900...
and if you wish something in "otterbox"
then there is this...

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/OTTERBOX-ARMB...gAAOSwpDdVSfFz

the universal otterbox armband...
I have one...excellent little sucker...

failing that...
I would suggest for an otterbox alternative....
this...

Bing found me this.
https://www.cellularcountry.com/acce...adf2c1cd1ae8c3

Coupon seems to work: ACCESSORY25
3 available at time of posting & none have sold for over 2 months.
Reviews are concerning & strangely the listing does not show up, using the site's search function.

Thanks a lot mate. You made my day and I have purchased 03 Qty as it shows 03 pcs limit per customer. I'm not sure what quantity they have in stock? Did you purchase as well?

Nothing confirmed. Australia.

Gonna soon visit a shop which is selling bulk otterbox cases (for various brands), including iPhone3GS (same era as n900). The seller doesn't seem interested in checking for me. There's also a couple flea markets, I should visit.

mike727, dear friend. through the search engines write that the site has a bad reputation and rating.

You can buy one for me If there is find an extra? I'll pay later. I guarantee, as I have been looking for this case for a long time. If that, I'm from Russia and I'll pay the mail.

Any news with CellularCountry?
_________

Was the Otterbox only available in this style of packaging?
Does anyone remember packaging ever looking different to this?
http://nokiaexperts.com/articleimage...rBoxN90001.jpg

No "Defender" branding / bulkier packaging, was there?

endsormeans 2017-06-05 06:54

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

That looks nothing like what the otterbox packaging looks like.
That is a heat sealed package ... they didn't produce them that way...
Perhaps they utilized multiple different packaging methods...
Especially to avoid theft in the stores...

But...yeah..packaging - wise.....that is most certainly nothing like what I got.

mike727 2017-06-05 07:23

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

There was a stack of VARIOUS type Otterboxes that where shaped / similar (package) to this.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ttCWpaA_eY8/maxresdefault.jpg

If you see a market stall or online selling Otterboxes, could be easier to identifier the N900 model & not waste time looking through a type of Otterbox packaging that was never used for N900.

(I hope that makes sense, I'm tired; sorry).

What's the difference between a "Commuter"-edition and a "Defender"-edition for the same device?

Commuter is more slimmer version of heavy protection, defender is ultimate protection that usually comes with build in screen protection and is more rugged

Supposedly 14 had sold on 8Feb (3 left in stock) & 10 sold on 22Feb (3 left in stock). Any of these N900 fans going to chime in?

Re: Want to buy Otterbox for Nokia N900!

I already have an otterbox for one of my n900's...
have a book variant case, as well and metal as well..
same with my n810's and n800's...

I would get a second otterbox for my n900's
But ...I would seriously be wary of the source of these great bargains.

A bit of looky-looing found enough for me not to take a chance with even $10 with these blokes.

Out of 13 reviews to the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
cellularcountry.com got 1.2 out of 5 stars....
(and I think if it hadn't been for one of the thirteen giving a positive review ....it would have been a - star rating ...if that were possible....)
https://www.bbb.org/sdoc/business-re...and-complaints

and from consumeraffairs.com
out of 84 reviews ..cellularcountry.com got a whopping 1.5 out of 5 stars...
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/cell...r-country.html

with reviews as consistently and thoroughly as bad as this...
wellllll....
Lets put it this way...
If this were the Dark Ages...
I would be avoiding business interactions with cellularcountry.com ...
like the plague.

I don't care if they are offering otterbox cases for $20 ...$10....hell...$1...
It isn't worth the risk ...hassle ...or irritation...
knowing just how bad they are..from those reviews.
