My carkit syncs the phone book but skips about 10% of the contacts. Most importantly the only one I really need, my spouse. I have not managed to figure out what the pattern is but it is consistently the same contacts every time. Any idea what the problem might be?

No ideas, then? Have I baffled you all? ;)

Not really! :D
But only one thing that should come to everybodies mind when something with contacts:
same number used more than one time with different contacts?

Hi Pichlo,

I have an idea and I also have a fix for it ;) Are you interested in it?
I stopped working on it long time ago as I see no interest from people. And also I lost my primary N900 phone :(

Hint: the problem is in sorting information inside VCARD. It seems a lot of different HF require fixed order ...

OMG I'm really lazy man. I fixed it two years ago and I was using the patch with no issue for almost two years (until I lost my phone).

Please try packages from
http://merlin1991.at/~luf/obexd/vcard_fix/

You need to install eds packages first. The newer obexd works only with new eds (I added 1 API call to eds). Install only those packages you already have in your N900.

Please drop me a note if it fixes your issue. I'll put it into git and also into cssu-devel if it helps.

@luf
thanks for your continuing support

@pichlo
did you test it?

I guess this fix is only related to IrMC (vCard OPP), or?

I am -only now- going to try this BT enhancement from tomorrow on. Got a new car and Parrot device and guess its time to use this kind of stuff in my car, never bothered about enabling it in the big family one.

damn, doez not work
installed manually according to wiki (no CSSU here)
device is Parrot Minitkit Neo2 HD

Other synchronization protocols: SyncML – Synchro AT – Synchro Nokia
Maybe I need something more as this N900 runs Maemo1.3???

Err, no.

The long story - my car has a built-in Bluetooth that integrates neatly with the audio unit that came with it. The pairing is with the car, not the audio unit. It still pairs even with the audio unit removed but, of course, there is no sound.

I replaced the audio unit for one with more functionality, including satnav and its own Bluetooth, thus forcing me to unpair the phone from the car and pair it with the new unit. It is this unit that suffered the phonebook sync problem.

The replacement unit recently gave up the ghost and I was forced to put the original one back in and pair the phone with the car again. Since then, no more missing phonebook entries.

So, I did not fix the problem because, in the end, I did not have to ;)
