Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

Wellywellwell.
Nope penguinbait.com/ tablethacker.com is gone again.
She's down.
I did manage (I think...dunno... never answered back to me personally...) to message him the last time around via twitter and told him his site was down and that there were still people interested in his work...but couldn't view it.
He did get it back up and running since...

Perhaps he does not desire to maintain it any longer...
This time around now... someone else can bug him that his site is down.
Me bugging him twice in a few months concerning the same issue?
I have no desire to be a nuisance.

His pages are available ...for now anyway...through wayback machine. awkward yes...but they are there.

Best suggestion is someone ask him to at least put it up temporarily for the purposes of mirroring ...
so if he is no longer interested in maintaining it ..at least others can.

That way... the valuable pages are not lost.
Ah..the flickering flame is back....penguinbait.

I believe I have scoured the site...found some pages not saved ...don't think I missed anything...

so until someone mirrors the site ...tablethacker.com (I hope) is completely available on wayback machine.

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

So the console tool links are down but I'm also unable to download with N810 from your google drive because the stock browser in N810 is too outdated. I hesitate what to do cause you said it would be good to clone a fresh N810 anything else than rootsh installed. It seems that at this point I should yet need an updated browser. What would be the best way to proceed?

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

the very first thing I suggest in the walkthrough.

I suggested that you open the links in your PC browser..
have them all there and refer to the pages and download what is necessary as you need them.

At no point have I ever implied suggested or insisted that a person should try to use the stock or any other browser on the n8x0 itself to browse search or download .

You should be using your pc to download what needs to be downloaded ...
put what you need to into a folder ..
then connect your pc to your n8x0 and drag and drop the folder into your n8x0
pretty straightforward.

Any other way and you are just making it harder for yourself.

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

As well this topic has zero to do with repo cat issues...
your issues are flashing, cloning and setting up diablo turbo on your n810 external sd card

So this convo should be occurring ...
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=94294

not here ...
where the topic is about repo catalogs...installation and issues....
you are nowhere near this last stage yet of even dealing with catalog issues.
Deal with the issues at hand.
In the thread which most certainly it has relevance for .

Yes, chose a wrong thread (again after you guided me away from the other wrong thread) but happily decided to pm you and you guided me through. Thanks a lot! Running Diablo turbo on N810 with catalogues in place. You're the man.

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

I followed the tutorial on partitioning the internal sd card. However, I missed this when reading through the first post of this thread. I had set 128MB FAT and 128MB SWAP.

8GB
1: 512MB FAT
2: 6.6GB EXT2 (BOOT)
3: 512MB SWAP

Is there any way I can expand from 128MB FAT/SWAP to 512MB FAT/SWAP?

I already cloned the OS and installed diablo turbo on the internal sd card. Wasn't sure if I can increase the partition size after I had already cloned the os. Thanks

Edit: I am using a 8GB SD card (internal).

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

you could do 512 of swap....and 512 of fat.
it would mean little difference to the max swap of 256 applicable...
I believe...
you would gain no benefit ...since the system is meant to handle a max of 256

You may also run into issues due to the doubling of the size of the fat and swap....you wish to do....I cannot say for certain ..

but with an 8gb card....
if it were me...
I would max the fat and swap out to 256 ...
save the rest of the card space for program installation.

If you didn't do the entire walkthrough of mine...but just noticed it now...

I would suggest you do it from beginning to end ...
It is a piece of cake...
It is good practice...
and in the end is foolproof..
and if you screw up anywhere in the process ...you know it immediately and can easily redo it.

Re: Adding Repositories to your n800/n810 and the potential weirdness involved

What if I were to get a bigger card like 32gb? Should I keep it 256mb for the fat and swap?
